Come stay at an old winemakers house that has been beautifully renovated by your host and family with open plan and airy living. Situated on the north side of the island, there is a small bar/cafe in the village which is a 5 minute drive, a large supermarket and many restaurants/cafes in Santana which is a 10 minute drive.The weather can be hot and humid but also bring fresh wind and rain. In the summer months the house stays cools, there is a log burner and plenty of blankets to keep you cosy.

Casa da Janela - Wood

Casa da Janela ("the house with the window") is in Ponta Delgada, the sunniest place on Madeira's Northern coast. Enjoy its magnificent sea views, its secluded garden behind old walls. Casa da Janela was totally rebuilt, mixing ancient stone work with modern and efficient furniture and fittings. Sit by the woodstove, listen to the waves breaking and the church bells ringing. Note that the house has a traditional madeira bed - smaller in size, and as such it is not suitable for five adults.

Palheiro Jardim Avó Graça [Grandma Graça's Garden]

Its function was to be the shelter for the shepherd/farmer to put the animals and store the products taken from the land and their food, such as cattle and goats. It was a place without great resources, very simple. The Palheiro do Jardim da Avó Graça is SLIGHTLY adapted to our times. It is a Rustic Place.
