There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. If you wish, you can also dine at a counter made of pure cedar, similar to a traditional Japanese restaurant.

Opening Fall 2025, an old private house close to the sea

It is a 2-minute walk from Setoda Port, and you can immediately go to a place where you can see the Seto Inland Sea. There is no view from the facility, but the port and Shiomachi shopping street are close, so you can stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy the port city. The building has been designed to create a comfortable environment while making use of the characteristics of an old private house. The existing exterior walls and structures were insulated and reinforced, but restored to the time when the old house was built. Inside, we made a white box that provides a comfortable environment, and we made it the living room and bedroom. You can relax in a modern Japanese-style design space while staying in an old Japanese house. The bathroom opens to the courtyard with large windows and is full of a sense of freedom. The bathtub and bathroom heating are also equipped to create a comfortable bathroom environment, and privacy is ensured with blinds. It is small but equipped with a kitchen for simple cooking. The entrance is wide and bicycles can be brought inside. There is also a washing machine, so it can accommodate medium to long-term stays. There are also Western-style restaurants, Japanese restaurants, kappo restaurants, and bars nearby, so you can enjoy the local cuisine.

Respecting its history and climate, and continuing to imagine it as a place to enjoy, it was reborn as a hotel that extracted the best of agricultural life. A 50 tsubo bungalow and a 130 tsubo lemon grove. Three types of bedrooms with a playful spirit on a spacious wooden deck. From the barrel sauna made in the lemon grove, you can see the beauty of the many islands of the Seto Inland Sea. It is the only property around Shin Onomichi Station. The house is a traditional Japanese house and you will be staying in the main house. Limited to one group per day, can accommodate up to 4 guests. Only one dog can stay with you (but it must be kept in a cage in the tatami room). It is close to the Shinkansen, so there is noise and vibration every time you pass.It may not be suitable for those who are sensitive to sound. (It's quiet because it doesn't run from 11:40 PM to 6:20 AM) If you are staying with a friend, you can have separate bedrooms.Or you can combine two single beds to make a double bed. Please let us know your requirements. Free parking is available below the guest house, but please be aware that it is difficult to access from the public road. Please also park your car within the white lines. Please be careful not to smoke.

Kusunoura Beachside Inn Gidan

A small, private inn in the historic and quiet port town of Shinoura, where you can stay at a reasonable price. The host renovated the house where they spent their childhood summer holidays and opened it in January 2026. It is conveniently located a 2-minute walk from the bus stop along the sea and a 1-minute walk from the convenience store, making it an ideal base for strolling around Isanoura. From the second floor, you can see the calm sea of the Seto Inland Sea and the nearby islands. There is also a workspace with Wi-Fi where you can work on your PC, making it ideal for workations. There is no parking, so you will need to use the nearby coin parking. The accommodation fee includes the Hiroshima Prefecture accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night).

We renovated the villa, which was built in the early Showa era and has one of the best views in Onomichi, to be easy to use and functional. While keeping the beauty of the traditional house, we have added comfortable modern innovations to create a space where you can enjoy the nostalgic and good traditional culture of Japan.
