In this unique property, you can enjoy real peace and quiet while staying in a cottage on a beautiful beach. Next to the cottage begins a beautiful sandy beach about a kilometre long, with hardly any other people using it. The nearest neighbour is about 500 metres away. The cottage has electricity and an air-source heat pump. At least 20 litres of clean drinking water are waiting for you at the cottage. More will be delivered as agreed. Washing water is taken from the tap on the outside wall. The atmospheric light of the Marjaniemi lighthouse can be seen from a distance of just over 2.5 km. There are hiking trails nearby.

Peltola Mummola, a farmhouse in the side village of Kalajoki

Our accommodation, "Mummola", is the old main building of our farm in the farmyard in Mehtäkylä. Our accommodation was renovated to a modern standard in 2013, while retaining the atmosphere of an old-fashioned farmhouse. Our property is located in a quiet hamlet of Kalajoki, 17 km from the centre of Kalajoki and 25 km from Hiekkasärki. Our yard is home to rabbits, chickens, cats and a dog. A trampoline, a pedal car and a sandpit are also available for guests to use. There is a barbecue gazebo in the yard with a gas barbecue. In the summer of 2026, a yard sauna will be available.

Charming seaside cottage

The cottage is in a great location by the sea. The yard is sheltered, and there is grass for yard games, for example. From the cottage you can go directly to the rocks to admire the sea and from the rocks you can swim in calm weather. There is also a small beach very close by, where even children can swim. In addition, about a kilometer away there is a large, long and beautiful sandy beach. In summer and autumn, you will find wonderful hiking trails, great berry forests and sea buckthorn bushes on the beach. In winter, Pyhäjoki and Kalajoki have great ski trails.

Villa Kaarna is a home built by two architects for themselves. The building's spaces are connected to each other in an airy way. From the windows you can see the pine forest, your own courtyard or sometimes even the northern lights. You can enjoy peace, a fireplace, sauna, nature and the nearby Pöllä beach. This place is suitable for a family as well as a group of friends, or even for a longer stay for someone working remotely. There is also a separate glazed summer room in the courtyard, where it is comfortable to sit from evening until night.

The accommodation is an excellent option, for example, for families travelling north as an intermediate stop, or as accommodation for several days for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. During the summer, a cosy back garden terrace is available for use. Sheets and towels are included.
