A stunning house, beautifully decorated with very stylish and original art and antiques. The views across the valley are amazing. It’s a very spacious and comfortable place, and all the little touches add up to a really exceptional stay! We loved everything! ♥️

We had a brilliant stay at Penny and Richard’s beautiful cottage. The hosts were excellent at communicating, providing helpful instructions and even allowing us to check in early. The cottage was to a high standard and just as described / as it looks on the photos. Little extras such as milk and welcome biscuits were a nice additional touch. We highly rate Golcar itself too. Myself, my fiancee and 2 year old loved our 2 night stay at Star Cottage. We go on many “holiday houses” as our little one likes to call them, and she loved her big bedroom and big bed. The only downsides was that upstairs wasn’t even, so felt like you were on an incline walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and unpredictable weather meant the lovely plush quilts we had were a little too thick for warmer nights. We would recommend lighter tog quilts. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and felt right at home! Great location, a 5 minute walk to local pubs, bars and and local Co-Op. What a beautiful cottage, one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in. It had everything we needed and was a home away from home. If possible, it was even nicer than in the photos. It’s an ideal base for exploring the Peaks. Would definitely stay here again.
