Holiday rentals with lake access in Sri Lanka

Lovely property in the suburbs of Colombo! Perfect for a small group of friends and family of 4-5 people. Extremely spacious rooms with well thought out furniture and fittings and to top it all off a large patio to unwind and chill.

Lahiru and his family were amazing hosts and so kind to us! They moved over our bags from their other property (shady cottage) while we were away for the day and even came to help us when we ran out of gas on our bike. They were so friendly and we felt right at home. It’s a beautiful peaceful location that is still close to ahanagama and kabalana beach which has lots of restaurants, surfing, bars. You can rent a bike so you can get around easily. Thank you for everything you did for our stay! :)

Wir hatten hier wirklich eine sehr schöne Zeit. Die Unterkunft ist sehr modern – besonders die Küche war gut ausgestattet und ließ kaum Wünsche offen. Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir sogar mit frischen Kokosnüssen empfangen. Das Badezimmer ist sehr geräumig und die Dachterrasse ein echtes Highlight – vielleicht wären in Zukunft ein paar Liegen dort noch das i-Tüpfelchen (nur als kleine Anregung). Ansonsten war wirklich alles super. Der Gastgeber war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns sogar spontan mit dem TukTuk in die Stadt gebracht, ohne etwas dafür zu verlangen. Er wohnt mit seiner Familie direkt unterhalb der Villa, was sehr praktisch war, falls man Fragen oder Anliegen hatte. Die Villa liegt ruhig und wunderschön im Grünen. Die Strände in der Umgebung sind ein absoluter Traum! Man braucht jedoch ein TukTuk oder Roller, um sich fortzubewegen – das sollte man einplanen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen – absolute Empfehlung!

Am booked in for one week, only a five min walk to the beach. It’s ideally located and has a great open space garden area. You don’t hear any traffic only the sounds of mother nature. The room is spacious and the en suite bathroom has a nice shower. A kettle and basic crockery are provided. There’s ample storage space, plug sockets and space to hang your clothes. It’s very affordable and immaculately clean. The mattress is very comfortable and the ceiling fan keeps you cool throughout the night. There’s a washing machine on the property and the host is very accommodating and kind. The dogs greet you upon returning home. Chathura the host has expert knowledge of the surrounding area and is only too happy to assist you. He’s the consummate host, a well deserved five stars.

Deuxième séjour à Villa Vador et ce fut une nouvelle fois un séjour inoubliable. Mes enfants et petits-enfants ont adoré admirer la faune et la flore. Stephen et son équipe managée par Sasun sont formidables. La villa est très belle et le jardin est merveilleux. Nous n’avions pas envie de partir et espérons revenir dès que possible…

Great place to stay after a long flight. Our family felt very welcome and were very well looked after. We had all our meals prepared and they were all delicious. The kids loved the pool and we went on a boat trip from the property to near by monkey island. Upul was so helpful and made sure we were ok and everything was going smoothly.

Great place to stay. Gamini’s caretaker was helpful and house looks great. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting anuradhapura and vilpattu national park.

We enjoyed our stay at Umendra's place. Even though we arrived very late in the night, we were met by the assistant Budika, who was kind and helpful. Always had a smile.. We are very grateful for getting all (6 of us) our bags onto the luggage trolley...along with the reception security Brian...who was very welcoming and respectful. We appreciate these gentlemen helping us at that time of the night. Also the two sets of keys were very convenient for us. Pity we couldn't meet Umendra. A few suggestions to improve would be ...instructions on how to use the lights, fan & the AC. The switchboard system was a bit complex. Also the google map took us to another place. Just letting you know the address was not clearly identified by the google map. Apart from these, overall we had a lovely stay at this beautiful place.

The stay at Nalaka's airbnb was good. check in was easy. The car park was spacious and the bedrooms were clean and spacious. The space were exactly like the photos. Nalaka responded to my questions very fast. Overall, it was a good stay.

Staying with Nalaka and his family was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had on our trip. From the very first moment, we didn’t just feel welcome, we felt like we were visiting old friends. They have such big hearts and were always there with a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. The place itself was even more beautiful than the photos. Everything was super clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. But what made our stay unforgettable was the way Nalaka and his family treated us. We had so many lovely conversations, and it always felt like they genuinely cared about us and our experience. He also cooked for us a few times, and the food was honestly some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. So if you’re looking for a real, honest, and heartwarming Sri Lankan experience, not just a place to sleep, but a place to connect, then you should definitely book this Airbnb. We’ll always remember this stay, and we’re so grateful we got to meet Nalaka and his wonderful family.

Grateful to have this stay at Havelock City - close to so many helpful shops and food court, amenities, etc., for our final days in the country. The place was a generous size, well maintained, great common spaces and bedrooms, very secure and wonderful location. Highly recommend for a family or small group! Thanks for hosting us!

Our stay at Pramod's place with my family was fantastic! He is truly an incredible host, always attentive to our needs and ready to help with anything we required. His kindness and generosity exceeded all expectations, from assisting with our late check-in due to a delayed flight to helping us organize various trips around the area. The apartment is fantastic, always clean and located in a convenient area for any interest. I highly recommend staying with him so an unique experience !

Loved staying at this beautiful apartment. Will definitely be back. Extremely clean and close to all major locations in Colombo. Has a great gym and pool. Host was very responsive and super helpful.

The apartment of Prad is a wonderful place with the most stunning view on the lotus tower you can imagine. Additionally, the free to use roof top pool is an outstanding experience. An another good point is that a supermarket is right infront of the door. Prad was always available and a great host. Next time in Colombo, we will definitely book again. Thank you so much Prad!

Surekha’s place is in a very nice quiet location but within walking distance to the sites of Colombo. Hecplace has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Surekha was a lovely host, even driving us to a lunch spot after our arrival, and gave us plenty of suggestions for places to visit in the vicinity. Highly recommended

Staying at Lakmali's place in Runakanda Forest is definitely one of my top 5 favorite places in Sri Lanka. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there, especially with my mom, as it was her first time in Sri Lanka,and she absolutely loved every moment of it! The food was beyond incredible! Each meal was showcasing the rich and flavorful Sri Lankan cuisine. The peaceful and serene surroundings of the forest made it the perfect escape. It’s a truly tranquil place where we could relax, and the location was just ideal for enjoying authentic local experiences. We had the chance to pick tea just a short walk away from the cottage, a unique experience that we’ll never forget. We also had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people, and the warm hospitality made our stay feel special. My mom and I both agreed that it was a stay we’ll cherish forever. I can’t recommend Lakmali’s place highly enough for anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable experience in SL !

This beautiful cottage is small, and perfect for a small family. Since Nuwera Eliya gets a bit cold at night, the cozy bed rooms and the blankets provided by Thidasala came to our rescue. His father took care of us so well, since Thidasala was not in town when we visited. We appreciate that. The view from the room of the Gregory Lake is brilliant. The wifi is good. We had a small kitchen as well. The bathroom was clean and we had hot water. This place is perfect for a small family who wants to enjoy the city, and not be in the rush. Their hospitality was amazing. 5 star from me.

I’ve stayed at many Airbnb’s and this may be my favorite. It’s serene, right in nature, yet extremely comfortable. They get me anything I need, food, water, etc. The bed is comfy, the middle glass room is my favorite, to write and meditate and stare at the eagles. The kitchen has everything you need. This place is perfect if you want an escape. If you want time to just be with yourself and loved ones. I feel really blessed to have found this space. It’s exactly what I needed for this point in my life. 5 stars across the board. I hope you get to experience the magic of this Airbnb.

After 22hrs travelling & worried about a 10.30pm arrival Shimali greeted me like an angel at Airport just as promised for a reasonable fee Tied & exhausted, the room was big, high ceilings open & cool with two BIG pedestal fans & mossie net … all u need But the best part was waking early the next morning to a Beautiful tropical 🌴 garden with birdsong surrounded by greenery Shrimali makes excellent lemon tee gratis with the room & was very attentive to my needs whether it be food or transport This home is the perfect place to rest & recover B4 or after a big flight … I will surely be back … Shrimali & husband & son are the nicest people u could ever meet

Amazing room, spectacular views and delicious breakfast. Hariharan and the staff are great. you will always find them smiling. the resort is heaven for couples.

We enjoyed our stay here - a short walk to the lake and the supermarket. It was great to have a kitchen with good pans and sharp knives for cooking. it is spacious and clean. Charles is an excellent host. There is not extra heating when we were there but 2 blankets with warm pyjamas were sufficient for the area. Discuss with Charles beforehand about the plan with lovely Devi who is the maid of the house, to suit what privacy you'd prefer. Two chilled big dogs lounge out front as well. We would recommend his stay for a family.
