Monthly Rentals in Startforth

Our host was so accommodating of our last minutes need for dog friendly accommodation and we were so grateful. Beautiful setting and a joy to explore this lovely part of the world from here. We looking forward to forward to coming back !

Well where do I start…. We just spent 4 magical weeks in the Bakehouse cottage and what a beautiful and memorable experience it was. Sue and Keith were the most amazing hosts. So friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived from London with our cat Luna and were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. Sue and Keith were on hand throughout our stay to recommend places to see and visit and for anything else we needed. They were even so kind to invite us to the wonderful Millbank arms pub for Sunday lunch with their friends from the village and for some drinks in their home next door to the cottage. The cottage is just perfect, so much so we didn’t want to leave. Dalton Village is other worldly and just timelessly stunning. The locals were all so friendly and there are idyllic walks on your doorstep. We cannot recommend enough for people to escape to this little oasis of calm and tranquility and to enjoy Sue’s hospitality. You will love it!! Xxxx

The house was lovely and warm when we arrived and the underfloor heating was a bonus! There were all the essentials and some extra goodies on arrival which was a kind touch. Sarah was fast to respond and helpful with local taxi information etc. The house was immaculate and everything has been well thought through: from umbrellas to use during your stay, to blinds with child-safe cords. The towels were fluffy and the beds extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend the Airbnb and Sarah was an excellent host! :)

The accommodation was very clean and enjoyably comfortable. We slept really well and to the tune of the babbling river - very therapeutic. Good recommendations for eating out - we enjoyed Valentines Restaurant particularly on the 14th February. There are interesting places to visit close by and a short distance to places like the High Force Waterfall. People in the area very friendly. Look for the dippers on the river.
