“Amazing place! Better than we expected! We loved the court yard and all the notes that either explained things or gave information about the town. Rich and Char are amazing and we enjoyed talking to them and listening to the music. We got a tour of their jailhouse apartment and would love to stay at either place in the future!”
This beautiful newer constructed, Full log hand built cabin is located in a quiet country setting, over looking a private lake with great fishing. The cabin has beds that sleep up to 6 people, with 2 couches and plenty of floor and deck space for sleeping bags. It has 1 master BR, 1 bath and a large loft, that has tile and hard wood hand made floors, Tile shower, Jetted Tub, with all new appliances/washer dryer and fully stocked kitchen. Also has a outdoor fire pit, LP grill and picnic table.
“Our little family of four had a great last minute get-away in this beautiful cabin. It’s small but exactly what we needed as far as amenities. Wonderful to offer kayaks/boats and life jackets (bring life vests for smaller kids!)- we saw tons of amazing wildlife including a HUGE snapping turtle, tons of fish, bullfrogs, more small turtles than we could count and more!!! The kids loved it and we really enjoyed the quiet private beach. The cabin was spotless and the beds very comfortable. The only “cons” aren’t really cons- the well water took a little getting used to for a city girl, and the water pressure in the kitchen sink left a little to be desired. The soaking jetted tub was amazing with plenty of hot water. Overall a perfect little vacation which was exactly what we needed.”
I've shut the water off for the season. It'll be back on in the spring. I am still accepting reservations. Step back in time a bit and take it a little off the beaten path. The Tack Shed is a 12'x14' getaway constructed almost entirely from reclaimed or homesawn materials.
“SO COOL. I think the pictures are 100% accurate but still do not do justice just how neat and charming this place is. We only got to stay 1 night (arrived Sat, left Sun) and wished we could have done at least a Fri-Sun stay to really utilize the place better. Finding the place was a breeze and there is even a sign where you should turn down his road. There is a parking spot for you at the end of the drive way and it was easy to pull in/back out doing a k turn. Josh was super nice, offered some things to see/places to eat and response time was great. The fridge is pretty spacious/standard 3 ft tall mini fridge, two electric burners, running water that collects in a basin, salt/pepper/oil, all sorts of cooking utensils and I think I counted 9 cast iron pans! Josh also offered if we wanted to grill, he would put a metal grate over the fire pit to allow for some open flame cooking (one more night would have been great!). The climb to the loft is a little steep, but the ladder is very solid and at 6'5 275 pounds I had no trouble climbing up or down. I even was able to bring both of my 30lb dogs up there while gripping the ladder with one hand and a pooch in the other. There is a nice sofa and coffee table to relax and read, or eat. Outside has two comfy chairs and a great breeze. You probably will get some curious equine visitors walking up to peek at you from the other side of the fence. The interior has a super charming decor going on and you can tell a lot of hard work and craftsmanship was put into this. It was mid 80s when we were there and Josh provided a box fan to suck in a breeze to keep things cool. We moved it up to the lot when it was time for bed and as the night cooled, the blankets and afghans provided nice warmth (but we were never freezing nor over heated). The mattress is comfy and has at least 4 pillows. The outdoor shower was my favorite part, I took one early in the morning as the sun was rising, and its cool to look out over the back field. Give it a few mins to warm up and bring body wash/shampoo if you are picky. The bathroom is located a short walk across the yard into the main house, but access is blocked off further into the house, so you will have private use. All in all a great stay and we are looking to stay longer, maybe in the fall so the wood burning stove can get some use.”
