“We had such a wonderful time staying at Gail & Chris’ A frame! We loved the interior design - the home is full of carefully curated antique furniture, interesting books, and a wide range of beautiful artwork adorns the cabin walls. Beautiful large windows bring the outside in and a huge walk-out deck literally makes you feel like you live in a treehouse! The property is gorgeous and we enjoyed daily hikes to the waterfall, bird watching and dining al fresco on the porch, paddle boarding on the pond, and curling up in front of the wood stove in the evenings. Gail & Chris were perfect hosts - they’re super fun, communication was always clear, and they had great advice about the area and fun things to do. We can’t wait to return to this magical place! “I can’t say enough good things about Lorraine and her son Ceasar. Very accommodating and very quick to respond and just generally really sweet people. I am in love with the tiny cabin! It was a perfect get away to hang with my dog and escape the crazy. There was a intense storm the first night and the cabin was perfectly dry. My plan was to use it as just a crash place so I could go hiking and mtb’ing with my dog but ended up spending more time there than expected because it was just lovely and relaxing. The mornings we’d walk and do a ride up the mountain & after dinner for the sunset. Plus I love grilling! Both my dog and I didn’t want to leave. I’m already working my schedule so I can come back! Thanks again Lorraine & Ceasar!”
New home, loft style sleeping. In the Catskill Region. Close to Oneonta and Cooperstown baseball camps. East Sidney Recreation Park is right across the road; swimming & beach area, boat access, picnic areas and fishing.
“An idyllic setting across from East Sidney Lake and just a few miles from the historic village of Franklin. I loved everything about this charming retreat. The decor was elegant and the accommodations were spotless and well-equipped for your every need. The host was very thoughtful in stocking the kitchen and bathroom with everything you would require to make your stay comfortable. And everything was done and arranged with an absolutely elegant, one could say even, European, touch. There were various settings for reflection inside as well as outside on the property including a woodland nook, a backyard barbecue and table with benches, as well as a lovely Adirondack chair (red!) on the front lawn to relax. Especially appealing to me was the frog chorus that warmed my heart as I sat and mused about life. It's a stone's throw from East Sidney Lake and is what makes this vacation spot a peaceful and charming respite, so bring your kayak. I was filled with a sense of calm in this Catskill retreat and I recommend it highly.”
