Holiday rentals with lake access in West Coast

We made a huge mistake when only booking this place for part of our stay. My thought was to jump around the South Island with my family at a couple stops. Had I known it was this awesome, then I would’ve booked our whole time at Anna’s. This place is exactly what my family loves. The kids will definitely be complaining about where we stay next. This property is AWESOME.

Diese Unterkunft ist ein Refugium, sehr privat und voller schöner Dinge zum entdecken. Hier können sich alle - von Groß bis Klein - wohlfühlen. Es hat uns allen viel Spaß gemacht, z.B. die Glühwürmchenhöhle zu entdecken, während eines Bades im Pool die Sterne zu beobachten oder am Bach nach Gold zu schürfen und die Flusskrebse zu beobachten. Unser Highlight war eine persönliche Führung durch den Wald auf den Pfaden der früheren Goldsucher und zur Goldmine. Wir zum Land und zur Geschichte sowie der Natur viel gelernt. Fran und Grant waren tolle Gastgeber. Ebenfalls können wir den Tip zum Besuch der Carew Falls absolut weiterempfehlen. Der Weg ist einfach und der Wasserfall sowie die Aussicht sind unglaublich lohnenswert.

Simon is a warm and responsive host, always ready to assist even before my arrival. The Black House offers excellent privacy and enough parking space in the yard. It is a short 5-10 minute walk to the city center, where you will find the Dark Sky Project Base and various restaurants. The house is clean, cozy, and spacious, matching the photos perfectly. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there are laundry equipments in the master bedroom. An extra double bed on the second floor is there if you want to take the stargazing experience to next level. While the standalone heater wasn’t very effective during the chilly New Zealand autumn, the additional of heating mattress ensured warm, comfortable nights. The outdoor hot tub was a delightful bonus and I had a great time with it :) I highly recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting Lake Tekapo for a stargazing getaway trip.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Mountain View! The spectacular sunrise and sunset views were breathtaking, and the private lake looked like a scene from a postcard. The house is spacious and beautifully furnished, making it feel just like home. Highly recommend!

Stayed here on an NZ vacation with my extended family. Very clean and spacious. Lisa was a great host and very responsive. the neighborhood is very nice and safe with water access directly off the property. We really loved the living area with the gas fireplace. Only 45-1hr to Christchurch. Lisa's neighbor across the street was very helpful and friendly! 10/10 spot to stay.

Lovely and comfortable house

What a unique stay! We loved the massage chair! Extremely spacious, and cozy at the same time - the interior has the old school chalkboard, high ceilings, and those unlistenable school lights. 10 mins drive from Graymouth. Bedrooms are created inside the main room, using metal sheets as dividers. Hosts are very welcoming and pleasant, check in was very smooth. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Heartily recommend!

What great hosts. Best airbnb ever. Absolutely loved this home away from home. Justine and Baz had thought of everything. It would have been very easy to stay in and just enjoy the view and surroundings. The furnishing paid attention to every detail, the bed to die for, all the appliances A+, the outdoor relaxing and bbq facilities excellent. The tea,coffee and breakfast cereal an excellent choice. Relaxing at night on a big luxurious couch with great TV and internet, after riding our bikes all day was just another plus. I could just go on and on. It was just awesome far better than any 5 star+ hotel or motel. Can't wait to return when the locals finish the biking/walking track around the lake. thank you again Jill and Kevin.

A fabulous home and each room having a bathroom was a real bonus. Very easy instructions for our stay, the home was very clean and a handy location to the shops, restaurants and lake. Highly recommend

Anna and Mike were amazing! We asked for an early check-in, and although guests were there before, they let us know when we could arrive after they cleaned. Their place was pristine and tranquil. They were patient and flexible as well as I remembered the wrong check-out time and let us take our time. It's a little outside of Twizel, but this place was preferable for us. I recommend it if you like a more peaceful stay.

Beautiful and new apartment close to lake Tekapo. Private parking and nice backyard to watch the dark night stars in Tekapo. Very recommended!

Nice peaceful stay. We enjoyed the lawns and the mountains and the pond and offcourse feeding mr frank. Thank you so much for the complimentary bread which was lovely and the cheese.

Fabulous location. Beautiful walk along the lake to the Church and township. We loved being able to light a fire after watching the stars on a clear, cool night.

Beautiful and cosy farm stay. Away from other other houses so we could be in complete darkness at night and see the Milky Way! Charlotte was very quick with her responses and Chad was kind enough to show us the calves and the farm.

I selected this house for its central location to visit Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo. Location was good for those days of exploring. Twizel is very small, though cute. I took advantage of what the house offers with full kitchen and enjoyed the outdoor bath to star gaze. The house is beautifully built and comfortable. Bed was super comfy, great shower and appreciated being able to do laundry.

AMAZING! This place is everything - the coziness, the views, the location, the tranquility and the amenities. It was such a wonderful place to explore or to just stay put while admiring the views from the windows and the deck. You just have to stay here if you can. Tekapō was even more lovely with this accommodation. We enjoyed the snow capped mountains while staying there.

Beautiful lakefront cottage with incredible views and a quiet and private location. This home is older but clean and well-maintained. There is no central heat or AC but the space heaters were effective. The host provided lots of information about activities. The house is located about 35-45 minutes to Mount Cook National Park and Lake Tekapo, 7 minutes from Lake Pukaki retreat (stargazing) and 15-20 minutes from Twizel with shopping and restaurants. The house was larger than expected with 4 twin and 1 larger (queen or king?) bed. Checkin was easy, kitchen was well-equipped and our stay was great.

A lovely spot in the countryside to wait out the weather during our fishing trip of the South Island. The doggies loved the fenced section too!
