We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful place! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect—immaculately clean, stylishly decorated, and incredibly cozy. Kevin and Lisa thought of every little detail to make us feel welcome, from the thoughtful hamper, the welcome prosseco and chocolates, the doggy goodies box, to the clear instructions and local recommendations. The location was peaceful and picturesque, with lovely walks nearby and easy access to charming towns. The cottage itself had everything we needed and more, with a super comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen, and a warm, homely atmosphere. Our dog also had the best time exploring the area! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend this little gem—can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and it was perfect. 3 pubs and a grocery shop just around the corner. Walking distance to a beautiful sandy beach. Cromer was a brisk 30 minute walk away. We cooked in the cottage every night and there was everything we needed. Beautiful touches upon arrival which included a pack of hot cross buns and a vase of fresh daffodils. Accommodation manual was comprehensive and included numerous local recommendations. Beds were super comfy and I had 5 nights of perfect sleep. I was worried about parking but we always found a space directly outside the cottage. I would 100% recommend The Old Smoke House and will 100% stay again.

We were looking for a place to escape for NYE as we wanted somewhere in the country and quiet! Elaine’s annex was excellent, clean, and as described! Would recommend 😊

This was our second time staying at Ruggles Retreat. We enjoyed staying here before and in beautiful Sheringham. We returned this time with our infant son for his first holiday. There’s lots to do in the local area with the beach and shops nearby, we also visited a couple of nearby towns. Cromer and Holt. The cottage is a nice place to be, very homely and had everything we needed. The hosts are very welcoming. We had good weather too which was a bonus! I am sure we will be back.
