Stables Cottage, Eskdalemuir - a peaceful place

ElianaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Alice and Paul were incredibly welcoming. Alice provided us with several suggestions of local things to do and see, as well as information on bus schedules and when/where to shop for food (as there is hardly anywhere nearby the accommodation to shop). The host also lent us their E-Bikes to help get around and explore, which was splendid, and a surprising delight! Would 100% recommend this BnB to anyone looking for a brief, peaceful respite.

Private wing of pretty Victorian hunting lodge

BenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Quiet, lots of space and amazing views all around! Host is very helpful and will go out of their way to help with nothing you need. Kitchen fully loaded for a full days worth of cooking with kids etc! (You may need to bring small cutlery for the very little ones) Also a quiet but large Tesco Extra down the road, so not too far for everything you will need. Stop in Moffat for a great breakfast or drinks and head up to st Mary’s loch with the kids and if you have enough energy go and walk up towards grey Mare’s Waterfall

Burn Cottage - Home Garden & Hottub

AlysonRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Fabulous house for exploring the local area, has all the amenities you’d hope to see. The surrounding countries absolutely beautiful - we loved watching the sun go down from hot tub, easing away the aches and pains from the days’ 100mile cycle. It’s perfectly placed on the Lands End to John O’Groats 10-day route that we’re doing, so is perfect for that too. Briony is a great host, very helpful and very friendly.

Remote Forest Hideaway *Great Walking/Cycling*

JaneRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Spending two nights in this cozy, peaceful guest house was not enough! The property itself has so many pretty little details and is amazingly situated above a hilly valley with lots of sheep. The walk that Daniele recommended through the meadows and woodlands was very scenic and gently strenuous. The place is very comfortable and functional. You're definitely not roughing it here! Two things that stick out in my memory are the real wood burning stove that I built a homey fire with (with Daniele's help!) and the fresh cut daffodil bouquet on the breakfast table. There is a greenhouse that you can sit out in which is very bright and warm and full of cacti:) The kitchenette is very functional and well-stocked but there are supermarkets and restaurants about a half hour's drive away should you need to stock up. Overall, a gorgeous place. I hope I get to come back at some point.
