My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Modern Country Retreat

Welcome to our home in Kouts, Indiana! We have vaulted ceilings, 2018 appliances, and lots of natural light throughout our house. The master suite has a king size beautyrest mattress, walk-in closet, freestanding tub and stand up shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third has a twin over full bunk bed. We also have comfy couches and a smart TV. The table and chairs has been updated from what you see in the pictures to something slightly larger to fit more people.

The former barn structure has been beautifully transformed in a rustic and comfortable lodge to rest, relax, and renew. We have renewed it into a fresh new life - as a lodge to invite friends and guests to enjoy and relax. The listed rate is for four people, and additional quests will be $25.00 per person.
