We will start with a Demonstration of making a pot on wheel, then slab pot techniques to make a jar. followed by your opportunity for you to make 2 pots in my studio in white clay. Decorate your pot and take it home. It can be painted and decorated,you can make two pots one on the wheel and the other slab built I will show you around my studio and explain how to make the pots including plates, bowls, tile, jewelry and buttons Tea and coffee will be available. The session is 2 hours long Another thing to note bring old clothes you don't mind getting mucky If you want to have your pot glazed and fired an extra session will need to be booked or I can do it for you and post it to u by arrangement. £30 You will go home with an understanding of ceramics and how to make your own pots bowls vases etc All welcome
Yorkshire Moorland foraging walk
We will walk from Danby up onto the moors and through the ancient oak woodland to forage for wild free food. We will see and learn about the rich wild harvest found on the moors and valleys of the north york moors. You will learn about the local foods we can eat including berries, flowers, and herbs from the area. I will teach you how to find and identify plants you can eat. We will find edible seasonal plants. I will explain how to prepare recipes and the uses of herbs, flowers, berries found, and medicinal uses of plants found. The foraging walk will include moorland, a secret valley, and ancient woodlands You need to be able to walk over rough ground for approximately 5 km. walks can be shortened by arrangement .We can stop at a cafe at the end, at Moors Centre if desired We will end at a cafe or pub for a drink or snack in Danby if you desire, possibly the moors centre, or the Duke of Wellington pub Other things to note Enjoy a special unique experience learning how to find natural plants you can use in a variety of ways including berries, nuts, seeds, and leaves. Walking up a beautiful hidden valley onto the moorland edge at a slow pace so we can appreciate the moors Meet at the bakery in Danby.

Arrive at the farm to a hamper of Goat Hangout Goodies all ready for you: A hammock to hang up in the goat pen so you can recline amongst the herd All organic hot drink facilities so you can relax in your hammock with your beverage of choice A snuggly blanket to curl up under in your hammock (the goats may steal this!) Whether you simply want to chill out in the middle of a herd of goats in the peace of the countryside or plan on taking the time to read a good book (best bring a kindle, they'll eat a paper book unless you meticulously guard it!) we guarantee this is chill out time like no other! Goat hang outs are in our main goat barn. On fair weather days you can leave the big barn door open & look over the spectacular rolling hills while you chill in your hammock. Naze View Farm Alpaca Experience
You will arrive at the farm - which has wonderful views We will give you a short talk on the Alpacas; * how to keep you and your Alpaca safe * how to put your Alpaca at ease and gain the most from your experience. * the care and husbandry tasks for alpacas We will match you to the Alpaca which would suit you best, collect "the boys" and go for a walk around our farm - this will be through wooded areas and fields and we will stop to allow you time to pet the Alpacas and get to know them. PLEASE ENSURE YOU WEAR SUITABLE FOOTWEAR. We will have cuddles and photo opportunities and hand feed them. You will be able to feel some of their fleece and if you wish you can collect some alpaca poop if you wish to make some "fertiliser tea" once you return home to help your garden grow! You may have the chance to meet our Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep. You will leave the experience with increased knowledge about these wonderful animals and benefit from some time in their company. There are 3 alpacas, each visitor will have 1 alpaca each, if you have a group of more than 3 people, please get in touch. Alpacas are friendly animals who have a natural curiosity. They are nervous and can be startled easily so we try and minimise loud noises and quick movement, please ensure long hair is tied back. The experience is WEATHER DEPENDENT.

Silversmithing Workshop - Make a silver ring or Bangle
For alternative times, please drop me a message. A 3 hour workshop enabling you to design and make your own silver ring or bangle (bangle is at extra cost) Starting in copper you will learn how to form and size a ring. We will also cover soldering and I will also show you how to texture metal and include other techniques such as stamping. After playing and designing your piece, the techniques you learn will then enable you to create a solid ring band or bangle in sterling silver. You will go away with a copper and a silver ring. Extra bangle cost is £20. Please let me know upon booking if you prefer to make a bangle, as I need to order materials and limit the amount of silver kept on the premises.
Rock Climbing Adventures - Peak District
Have you dreamed of rock climbing in some amazing locations in the Peak District? Do you want to overcome your fear of heights? Fancy challenging yourself with a new adventure? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then this is the experience you need to book! Even if you answered "no", and just want to have a good time enjoying the outdoors with your friends or partner, I can guarantee that you'll have a great time doing this experience! We will be climbing in some of the best crags in the Peak District such as Stanage Edge, Burbage, Millstone, Pule hill, etc... The crag will be chosen to suit your location and requirements and of course, weather dependent. If you are feeling up for it, an abseil is also included in the experience! If required, we can start the day with an indoor session at a local climbing wall to learn some of the basic skills or to gain confidence to get on real rock. With this experience, apart from the great time you will have, you will also learn some of the basic skills, movement and techniques that will help you progress with your climbing journey Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Can accommodate this experience for wheelchair users or with mobility impairment or other disabilities.

Mountain & Trail Fitness Training
We now offer an introduction to trail and mountain fitness based out of Clapham, North Yorkshire. 2 PERSON MINIMUM BOOKING Available to anyone wanting to increase their fitness in the best gym anywhere, the trails and mountains of North Yorkshire, the great outdoors! The day starts at 10.30am at Clapham Waterfall with introductions and brief outline of the session activities: 1. How to stretch and warm up correctly 2. A warm up walk up to the gorge where we will introduce the basics of scrambling safely and the techniques used. 3. Using low intensity interval walking, based around power walking and using your heart rate as a guide to training. We then walk to Gaping Gill to show how to use step training as part of a fitness programme. If you have a smart watch or training watch this is almost a must have. (These are relatively inexpensive now). 4. After a short break we then trail walk Ingleborough and give advice on the best way to attempt a trail climb at a specific pace. The return part of the decent takes us down on part of the 3 peaks trail then returning past the Cave entrance and back to our starting point. This is designed for beginners but we can customise the training levels up to trail running and extended HIIT sessions as a private booking. Pamper Yourself with Herbs Workshop
You will be welcomed to my cosy country workshop. In a friendly, informal, interactive environment, I will share some special skin care recipes with you, from my formulations as a professional, award-winning Medical Herbalist. You will be given materials, equipment, instructions & guidance to make your own natural skin cream using aloe vera, plant-based oils, and herbal extracts. Using a simple technique, you will make a lovely, light, gentle moisturiser to take home. You will then learn to make a magnesium & herb body rub to take home. It smells wonderful, & the magnesium is easily absorbed through the skin, bringing a host of health benefits. Most people are deficient in magnesium & it is needed by every cell in your body to maintain optimal health. The products we make together will be vegan, gluten free, kind to you, & good for the environment. Once you have learned the simple techniques, you will be able to make your own at home. Other things to note: You don’t need any previous knowledge or experience for this practical workshop. The techniques are simple, the atmosphere relaxed, fun & informative. Peak District Wild Herb Discovery Walk
Put on your walking shoes & join us outside the friendly local White Lion Pub. We will introduce ourselves & choose together a beautiful walk route that will suit us all. Great Longstone, is a lovely friendly village, surrounded by stunning countryside, and an abundance of Wild Herbs. I will introduce you to them as we walk, explaining their gifts, with history & folklore. If you would like to gather wild herbs to make a cup of foraged Herb Tea en route, please bring a flask of hot water & a collecting bag. After a beautiful walk, full of facts & entertaining anecdotes, you may see the world in a whole new light as you return to the welcoming village of Great Longstone! This Walk is a great Experience for couples, families & private group bookings. If you can’t find the date or time you want to book this beautiful Herb Walk for, please contact me with your request, I will try to arrange it for you! Please bring a waterproof jacket in case it rains, wear appropriate clothing & footwear. COVID UPDATE: Guests are required to keep 2 meters apart from anyone who is not “in their social bubble” until government guidelines change. Other things to note This will be a gentle to medium walk depending which route we choose together. Please dress for the changeable Peak District weather. Treasure Map Making Experience
In this 1 hour experience we will create a treasure map which can be taken away at the end of the session. Will will work with ink onto paper which has been stained to look aged and distressed. Using historic examples of treasure maps for reference we will pay attention to drawing and styles of writing. The naming of places on the map will also be a focus. We will use a dipping nib pen and ink, exploring different thicknesses of nib and the effect that they have on lines. This is a fun experience for all ages... I am 46 and I thoroughly enjoyed making my treasure map! Scarborough's very own pirate ship the Hispaniola can be seen in season from the window of my pier side studio which overlooks the boarding spot in the harbour. I have an enhanced DBS check, however any children must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum group number is 6. Other things to note Pay and display parking is available on sight. Out of season you can park along the foreshore for free. There are a small amount of stairs to reach my studio. Please contact me if the time you would like to attend is not offered, I run several experiences from my studio and the Air bnb system does not allow a cross over of times, I am happy to change times of workshops dependent on needs.
