A great little hideaway. Clean and simple apartment inside and then the marvelous covered balcony almost doubles the living space. Great restaurants and take aways nearby. Very luxurious to sit and eat at that private rooftop table. Good spaces for yoga and meditation inside or out.

This Airbnb was super safe! It was behind a locked gate and the apartment itself was clean and beautiful. You are about two streets off the main road which has lots of market stalls and some really tasty restaurants (kings and Hanoi house are amazing!!! JF Killicoffee has the best coffee!!!). It is about a 10-15 minute walk to Nungwi beach area. It’s not a bad walk, just hot if you try to go mid-day. Saidi is the property manager and he’s incredibly helpful!!! He can help get a taxi, rent a scooter, and offer some good recommendations. He’s very kind and a welcome face for this solo traveler! I found the area to be safe. I walked alone at night frequently from dinner and did not feel like I was at risk of harm. This is located near local people so you get a better sense of the island than you would in a resort area.

This is a fantastic place to stay! Saidi was excellent with communication. The area is fantastic to relax and he was so helpful with checkout and very reliable. My favorite stay in Zanzibar 😍

the (3) apartments are nicely located on a private fenced property with a (masai) security at night. hosts are very friendly and willing to help with whatever you need. as it is a little community you are likely to interact with the 2 other apartments when occupied. we had very nice neighbours with whom we spent some nice evenings. You should be aware that the apartments do not have airconditioning so in the two hot months of January and February it can become very warm in the apartments with only a ceiling fan. But we had a very nice and welcoming stay here.

I recently stayed at this lovely apartment near Stone Town, and it was an incredible experience! The location is perfect—close enough to explore the historic Stone Town but situated in a quiet and peaceful area, which made for a relaxing stay. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of room to unwind after a day of exploring. It had everything I needed for a enjoyable trip. The host was absolutely wonderful! They were very responsive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Zanzibar. The combination of a great location, spacious and comfortable accommodations, and an exceptional host made my stay unforgettable. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

The 1bedroom unit is great , exactly like pictures, a good location, and easily accessible by buses, bajaji and taxi, Abdulkadir was a wonderful host—he gave us breakfast and arranged rides to and from Nungwi for a small fee. I would definitely recommend

Asha’s place is located in the heart of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a perfect base for exploring Zanzibar’s rich history and culture. It’s an excellent budget-friendly option for travelers looking to stay close to all major attractions. The apartment is just a two-minute walk from key historical sites, including Tippu Tip’s House, the old slave chambers, the bustling port, and the famous night food market. The area is surrounded by numerous tourist shops and great restaurants, offering plenty of options for dining and shopping. While the central location is a major advantage, be aware that some noise from tourists and nearby market vendors—especially during late-night cleanups and storing —is unavoidable. However, this is beyond Asha’s control and is a small trade-off for such a prime location. Overall, I highly recommend Asha’s place for travelers who prioritize convenience and cultural immersion over absolute quiet. I would definitely stay here again

Exceptional stay! The house is tastefully decorated and perfectly located just steps away from the beach. Quiet, clean, comfortable, with everything you need to feel at home. The host was available, warm and very professional. A real slice of heaven in Zanzibar. I will come back without hesitation!

We stayed at Eta's Airbnb last year and came back again because we liked it so much!!! The A/C in the bedrooms is great, I love the location, the decor and little extras are thoughtful and we love that the suite is on the main floor. The only downside this year was, the neighbours upstairs were louder than last year with a screaming toddler who was often up by 5:00 am. The master bedroom had windows facing the courtyard and it was very loud. I would still stay at this suite again though!!! Thanks Romain and Eta... see you next year!!!

My family had a wonderful 4 nights staying at Margo’s property - very private, very large functional bedrooms with fans, air conditioning and private ensuites, plus a separate fully self contained 3rd bedroom. A beautiful pool, 24 hour security onsite, daily house cleaning by Ester. And the dogs were super friendly and great company. If you like football, pack your boots and enjoy a game with the locals on the pitch next door. If you like tapas or just really good food - recommend having dinner at “ To Be” which is approx 1km from Margo’s. Couldn’t find fault with the accommodation or the lovely Margo as a wonderful host, who was available, responsive but also gave us total privacy.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay! The accommodation was clean, modern, and had all the appliances we needed. We were looking for a quiet place and this was it. We basically had the pool to ourselves and Julie was on hand to answer our many questions at the onset. She even provided the first breakfast as well as a huge watermelon and bananas, which was much appreciated. The guards made us feel extra safe, even though it's a very safe area already, and sometimes we got a visit at the pool from the nearby cat or dog, which as animal people we loved. We will most certainly be returning! What a little paradise. (PS Being able to arrange a lift from and to the airport was also really handy.) Thank you so much for a beautiful work-cation/holiday!

We had an amazing time at Liza’s villa! It’s a very beautiful house, especially the pool area and the rooftop. Liza provided a lot of information about the house and the area beforehand, which was appreciated.

Zoe was an amazing host and really helpful with providing recommendations on where to eat and what to see on the island. Zoe was also very quick with her responses which made our stay at Zanzibar stress free. The property was spacious, with the showers having good water pressure and the beds being covered in mosquito nets. We had rented a car and we were able to park the car safely inside the gate. Overall we would definitely recommend Zoe as a host and her property as a great place to stay!

For us Marias place was an oasis of tranquility, peace and beauty... the colorful, rich and lovingly cared garden, a very comfortable pool, conscitious house cleaning, an incredible rooftop with nice breeze and the possibility to take a shower upstairs were amazing. I can only recommend the place, from communication to booking, to transportation from the airport to the welcome and accommodation to the apartment, we were happy with everything. The family apartment provides plenty of space and excellent cooking facilities. The beds are very comfortable and the terrace is superbly adapted to relax in privacy thanks to the grown beautifully blooming bushes. Next, the generous breakfast included and 2 pools, at least one of which we had to ourselves at any time. The area is very well maintained, the pools are clean and the surroundings of the apartments are cared for. It's about a 5-minute walk to the beach, as well as the beginning of the village, where you can shop for everything you need, and also observe the local life while walking. Thank you so much to the owners and the entire staff for a great stay.

Riz is a gem! We absolutely loved our stay in his apartment. Very spacious various balconies and spotless clean! What stood out the most was the communication between Riz and me. We spent two nights at Abdallah's, the apartment is clean and functional, ideally located very close to the small narrow streets of Stone Town that lead to the seaside in 8mn walk. We were welcomed very generously and Abdallah would answer all our questions whenever we needed them. Great for discovering Stone Town and its riches, thanks again!
