Staying at Peter’s is hard to describe. We stayed 9 nights in The View as a base whilst visiting relatives. It was the most tranquil and beautiful setting to wake up in every day. The accommodation is very, very basic, but you have to see beyond that.Staying here is an experience so unique, it’s almost priceless,and that is down to Peter.Such a genuine and kind human being, who wants all guests to have a memorable stay. The furniture,appliances, & fittings have really seen better days. The cleanliness could have been better, but somehow none of this mattered to us. Oughterson feels like your favourite, most comfortable pair of shoes, that are worn out, but you keep wearing as you love them so much. 1st night dinner round the long table & fresh pancakes delivered for 1st breakfast set the scene. The grounds, the wildlife, the pool, pizza night, the jam, movie night, the dogs, like-minded guests (hey Tom & Lola), and Peter. Our stay grounded us and we will cherish the memories.

Great guest house in a quiet residential area,only about a 20-minute walk from the fantastically beautiful Bottom Bay. The guesthouse has everything you need as a self-catering,especially super comfy beds and a huge fridge with freezer compartment. Air conditioning is definitely not necessary,a ceiling fan and the breeze from the sea are completely sufficient. Good and punctual bus connections to the southern and western destinations, a car is still an advantage if you want to go to Bathsheba or to the north (otherwise detour via Bridgetown)There is a small shop about a 10-minute walk away, for larger purchases, the Emerald Super Market is about 10 minutes drive away. Jessica is so sweet and helpful, she even drove with us to the supermarket upon arrival to buy the essentials, she also gave us super tips and organized a driver for a day.

Sylvia’s place is a little piece of heaven. Not only does the spacious home have everything you need but the back porch views are incredible. We watched locals bringing out their livestock, Sunday afternoon RC flyers, and goats wandering nearby. Watching the sunset from the porch and the stars from the pool deck was such a treat - as was dipping into the clear pool waters continually throughout the day. Within walking distance is Bottom Bay Beach and several house-side bars with friendly owners and patrons. Groceries and anything else needed is only a short drive. Mauva and Phillip were extremely helpful and kind. They greeted us the first day, and bid us adieu on our last. We can’t wait for our next visit to Barbados!

Great place to stay and the host kept in contacted. The area is lovely and quiet with the beach within walking distance. Apartment was clean and have everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable throughout our stay. Getting around was easy as we hired a car which I would recommend if travelling to Barbados and want to get around however, there is public transport just a short walk from the apartment. I would highly recommend.
