Gîte de l'Abbaye d'Etrun et son parc de verdure

The cottage is the oldest house in the village, it guarded the entrance to the Abbey of the Benedictines of Etrun. The Abbey was founded in 980 and destroyed during the revolution in 1789. The whole has been listed as a Historic Monument. In 1815 Cardinal De La TOUR d'AUVERGNE decided to build his "Summer Residence" of which the surrounding walls still exist, as well as some period elements. In 1915, General Pétain made it his headquarters and commanded the Battle of Artois from these places.

Downtown house close to many places of interest in Lens within walking distance: Bollaert Stadium, Louvre Lens Museum, Tourist Office, swimming pool, SNCF and bus stations. Market on Friday down the street, supermarkets 100 meters away. Renovated in 2023, we were keen to keep its original spirit, which is why we chose materials and furnishings to give a style combining vintage and modern, repurposed objects and decorations made by us.
