The Rimu Hut - Cosy Bush Escape

A tramping-style A-frame chalet nestled against rimu trees on the edge of a stunning 15-acre native forest block close to the Hunua Ranges in rural South Auckland. Built by the owners using macrocarpa timber grown on the property, it was intended to be a place where their grandchildren could enjoy sleepovers in the forest and afternoon adventures. They soon realised though, that such a special place should be shared so they decided to make it available to others. Cosy in winter, cool in summer!

With a spacious, light-filled design and a super king bed for restful nights, it's an idyllic retreat. The cabin has all you need for a comfy stay, including a fully equipped kitchen & Webber BBQ. Explore nearby beaches, parks & trails or simply relax in serenity. As the day ends, enjoy a glass of wine on the deck, taking in the breathtaking sunset over the strawberry fields.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish, private space with breathtaking views over looking rural New Zealand. 50mins to Auckland CBD 40mins to Auckland airport 10mins to Pukekohe 22mins to the beautiful black sand Karioitahi beach. Only a stone throw to local restaurants, beaches (Clark’s beach), bush walks (Henry’s Waterfall, Hickeys Reserve) ,and parks (the popular Paerata rise playground). We would like to be respectful of neighboring properties. Strictly no parties or loud music.

Secluded sunny studio with off-street parking

The 35 square metre self-contained studio is private, elevated and peaceful with a sunny deck overlooking the garden and Eskdale Reserve's native bush. Both the studio and its carpark are out of sight and sound of the road down a long sloping ROW that is shared with the main house. NOT suitable for guests with restricted mobility because of the stairs from carpark to studio (see photos). Uncluttered. Suitable for cooking, working, relaxing. 10min walk to nearest shop and bus stops.

My place is close to Piha Beach, Piha Surf Club, Piha Cafe, etc. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the light, the sea views, the decks and beanbags, the 3 mins walk to south beach.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
