A wonderful place to stay, very cool setting that made getting ready with my groomsman on my wedding day an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful barn style, accommodates three families easily all with their own bathroom! The line is very luxurious and beds comfy Communication was quick and efficient at very late notice. The place did have a few cobwebs and dust from the road but I think that comes hand and hand with being out in the countryside. Stunning garden outlook to sit and have your morning coffee. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to other families or larger groups with all amenities supplied and a short drive to Te Arai beach. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay here, it was beautifully presented and filled with charm and character. The view out the windows was serene with sheep and cattle grazing in the fields, so peaceful. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were spotless and the laundry was very handy. A highlight was the games room downstairs, we had a blast playing pool and darts. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, sharing ideas for restaurants and places to see during the day when we asked. We would definitely go back and stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay with Nadia. Everything was so lovingly prepared. A particularly nice touch is the breakfast you receive at the beginning. Fresh eggs from her chickens, fruit, bread, home-made honey, butter, milk, and tomatoes. Absolutely fantastic. Everything was very clean, and Nadia made a lot of effort to make her guests feel comfortable. Auckland and larger supermarkets are not far away by car. I highly recommend the accommodation.

This place is stunningly beautiful and we did not want to leave, it's one of 'those' places where you always try to stay an extra night because of how it makes you feel. It goes above and beyond the pics and description, some pics don't do it justice to be honest, and when we first arrived we could not believe our luck. So we ended up asking to stay an extra night and Steve was very accommodating and helpful and made it happen even though we gave him short notice. The view from the big stylish deck is breathtaking, the native birds and the faint sound of ocean below....there is something extremely special about this place that can't be put into words. That's not even taking into account the shared sauna, shared cabana, the huge projector for TV, the piano (so grateful to be able to play on a real piano again), foozeball, fairy lights, stylish decking. Didn't want to leave and its been incredibly inspiring to us, to see what someone can do with their land! You have to stay here!

Ken and Christine are lovely hosts and the Onion Shed is a very nice place to stay. We like the rural setting and the accommodation is beautifully decorated and furnished. Several nice breakfast options were provided and included Christine's home preserves. We highly recommend the Onion Shed. We enjoyed our stay there.
