This log home is ten minutes from downtown Bryson City with many restaurants and grocery stores. Also close to the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, white water rafting, tubing, hiking, Harrah's in Cherokee, and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The views are gorgeous. The road to the cabin is mostly paved but the last few minutes are graveled with a few steep areas. The driveway is also. You'll need at least a front wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. No motorcycles.
“some things that are to be expected - with a view as amazing as this place as you give up things like water pressure and an easy driveway. The views are outstanding and the hot tub is a nice bonus - many in our party needed the hot tub after some of our hikes. Most of the popular hikes are about 1 hour drive from the house, but there are plenty of great hikes close and we found them. A beautiful place for a photo shoot is Juney Whank Falls, which is 15 minutes from the house and an easy hike to 2 other waterfalls. We also loved smoky mountain tubing - they drive you to and from with a 2+ hour amazing tubing ride... also very close to the house (cherokeetubeandraft dot com). The other tubers we saw rented the tube and left you to walk. Another interesting adventure we found was in Pigeon Falls, TN (about a 90 minute drive) - google "zorbing", Outdoor Gravity Park won't disappoint you. We would love to relive this vacation again and again, so no doubt we will be back.”
Situated on five beautiful private acres, The Gathering Place offers a private entrance suite, and ultimate privacy. We are pet friendly, but you must communicate with us if bringing a dog. We have two dogs, and sometimes there can be "dog politics." A large, clean, natural pond, rushing stream, and a meandering creek create a peaceful setting. Your hosts are busy and active people, and you will be able to enjoy all the beauty, privacy, and quiet that you want. Close to attractions & stores
“This is the perfect secluded getaway, especially if the tourist-y feel of Gatlinburg isn’t your thing. Close to the park, and the hot tub is the perfect way to end a day of hiking. We grilled out on the beautiful deck overlooking the pond. So many thoughtful little touches sprinkled throughout the cabin and the coded gate made me feel extra safe. Thank you Ken and Laura, we would definitely return!”
A beautiful, brand new, private and separate studio suite located on a picturesque 5.5 acre hobby farm with 32 animals. Incredible views of Cold Mountain and the great Smoky Mountains. We are only 24 minutes from West Asheville, close to BIltmore, Maggie Valley and more! Our site is Gaia Arise Farm. We love sharing our farm! Please read the check in directions as navigation will get you close, but not right to us.
“Wonderful place, in a gorgeous location. The place was very clean and spacious. Although we spent only one night, we definitely enjoyed it. It’s only 30 mins from downtown Asheville and if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing place, this is it. We will definitely stay again.”
