Stone Country Cottage

Very private, quaint stone cottage in the Townland of Coomkeen, on the Sheep's Head Peninsula (the Wild Atlantic Way), Ireland's best hiking country. Two Miles to village of Durrus, five miles from town of Bantry. Cottage was originally built in 1845 by my great uncle. ceilings in kitchen are low, in order for fireplace to keep warm. There are odd heights in doors typical for the era., PLEASE BE ADVISED PERHAPS A CHALLENGE FOR VERY TALL VISITORS. Or you can take a walk back in time and enjoy.

This snug, grass-roofed eco-cabin offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy a warm Irish welcome, mountain walks on the Beara Way or snorkelling through nearby reefs. Sample local cheeses, lamb, fish and seafood or stoke up the wood-burning stove, have a glass of wine and and savour the peace and tranquillity! Harbour Lights

If you love the ocean, you will love this place. It is an ocean front property directly on the sea, looking at the Bere Island Lighthouse, very quite and private within walking distance to Castletownbere. It has a private automatic gate and the property has a slipway to the sea. Beautiful area to go canoeing. Seals can be seen from time to time. You can watch the Castletownbere fishing boat going out to sea.
