Chivy Chase - Old miners cabin in the Aussie bush

'Chivy Chase' is an original log miners cabin set in the beautiful Australian Bush. Sit back and listen to the kookaburras and if you are lucky you might spot the resident wombat in the backyard. The house consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 small sun-rooms, bathroom and the original cabin which has a further 2 beds, kitchenette and living area. There is also a small log cabin out-building called 'Dillie Dorrie' with a double bed which can be used in summer. The log cabin was built early last century and various rooms have been added over the years, hence its non-conventional layout. The 2nd bedroom has to be entered via the first. The house is full of rustic charm and it’s a wonderful place for getting back to nature. We have deliberately not put in a phone or internet connection, nor TV reception. However, there is a small TV with a selection of DVD's and lots of magazines to read. There is an open fire in the cabin and portable column heaters in the bedrooms. Cooking facilities include; very small oven and 2 burner stove, microwave, electric frying pan, slow cooker and sandwich maker. There is also an outdoor area and BBQ. It's great to sit out the back and admire the bush and wildlife. The property is within 10 minutes walk of the famous Diggers Club, St Erth gardens and a great base to explore the surrounding areas including Trentham and Daylesford. There are lots of great bush walks nearby. There are plenty of doonas, blankets and pillows, but please bring your own sheets or sleeping bags, pillow cases, towels and tea towels. There is 1 queen and 3 single beds, plus if needed 2 single beds in the cabin. In summer the double bed in Dillie Dorrie can be used. We look forward to hearing from you.
