As you walk through CA, you will come across some portraits of Aurora's family and some objects in "tin" that whisper the story of João's old dairy farm that once inhabited the basement. Just like a good family home, CA welcomes many people in its 4 bedrooms with double beds, in the living room with sofa bed, in the equipped kitchen, in the 2 bathrooms and also in the fantastic barbecue and wood-burning oven in the garden! Casa do Calhau - Alagoas

The house is located 30 km from the city of Coimbra, 45 km from Serra da Estrela and 15 km from Bussaco. We are located 15 minutes from Vila Nova de Poiares, Mortágua, Lousa and Arganil. Penacova, the county seat, is 10 minutes away. You can visit the pergola and Penedo de Castro, with unique views over the Mondego River, and it also offers several walking trails. In Lorvão, you can taste its ex-libris, the snow and the Lorvão pastry. The house is located between 2 river beaches, Vimieiro and Cornicovo

River House with private access to the River

Casa do Rio Alva is a very special place with private access to the river! Our country house is located in the village of Secarias in the heart of the nature of central Portugal, 4 km from the village of Arganil and 55 km from the city of Coimbra. Exploring the Alva River from our home is a unique experience, where the following stand out: avocets, bees, kingfishers, crows, swallows, foxes, field mice, frogs, toads and snakes, numerous fish such as bass, bogas and carp, but also trout and eels.

You will stay on our lovely farm, sharing with no other guests. Close to The Serra da Estrela Mountains, lots of beautiful river beaches and historical cities. It is a traditional, cozy and private granite cottage situated in a quiet river valley surrounded by woodland, birds and wildlife, with EXCLUSIVE use of our salt water pool. the house is good for couples, families (with kids) we do not charge more during holiday times, same great price all year, and pets (but please check first).

House with open-plan lounge and kitchen, 2 bedrooms - one with a double bed on the ground floor, the other with 2 single beds on the upper floor, and 1 bathroom. It has heaters in the bedrooms, air conditioning in the living room. The living room has a fireplace. The stairs to the second bedroom are Santos Dumont stairs: sloping, with each step going back on the side that won't be used for the ascent). Among the services we offer is breakfast, which is optional (8€ a day, per person).

Come and enoy the early autumn days with the rich changing of colours in the centre of Portugal. Get the peace and quiet of the countryside amidst forest lanes with the towns of Pedrogao Grande and Figueiro dos Vinhos with restaurants, supermarkets and shops about 9 - 11 kms away. House of Schist in the center of Portugal

Three schist houses being restored at the village of Cunqueiros, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, form the Casas da Encosta project. Here it’s possible to relive the life history and culture of the region’s people in the comfort of a typical Portuguese village. According to the owner, Nuno Caldeira, the houses are being restored following the local construction tradition where schist, clay and wood are featured. One of them, Casa da Lagariça, has already opened.

Our authentically renovated, stone village house is located in the quiet and friendly village of Andorinha in Central Portugal. We created a modern space with as much comfort as possible yet keeping the eccentricity of the house. Make sure you take advantage of the wood burning hot tub and enjoy a few hours soaking, while sipping on a nice glass of wine. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: The downstairs large bedroom has access through the front courtyard NOT inside the house.
