  • One day in Soweto
    A history tour of Soweto where political Icons lived during Apartheid fighting against the regime. By walking you will get an idea of the everyday life in the townships, young talents and the Morden culture. Starting at the Hector Pietersen Museum, we will talk first about the Soweto uprising that transpired in 1976, which was one the turning point of apartheid. I will then introduce you to the famous house of Nelson Mandela in Vilakazi Street, built in 1945 where he lived until he was imprisoned for 27 years. We will then have a conversation about Arch bishop Desmond Tutu in the famous street in Vilakazi Street. Continuing through Orlando East the first formal settlement of Soweto & Orlando Stadium, Soweto football giants, the Orlando Pirate and making local by riding a minibus taxi to our last stop at the Orlando Towers. We share many personal stories about our family's generations, how apartheid had an impact in each and everyone of us, and how Soweto has changed today. Lunch Included : Kota (Local burger) Other things to note Regarding safety, people in Soweto are already used to tours and mostly appreciate foreigners coming to experience their community.

Custom Bomber Jacket Experience - From Concept to Finished Garment in 3 hours With the designer, you will visit one fabric shop to the next, looking for your favorite unique African print for your custom bomber jacket. The designer then takes you to meet a member of his design team, measurements are taken, and they collaboratively work with you to create your custom jacket. The experience is paired with a photoshoot in the trendy neighborhoods of Maboneng and Braamfontien, and a vlog video of the whole experience will be recorded and shared at the end (optional). 1. Choose a unique African print fabric of your choice from one of our local fabric stores (fabric include). 2. Learn how to take body measurements for the making of clothing garments. 3. Cut the pattern and pieces you’ll need to construct your custom bomber jacket. 4. Learn basic stitching and hand sewing in a practical lesson, while putting together your garment (There will be expert studio assistants who will guide and complete the jacket for you). 5. You get to star in a street photoshoot wearing the custom bomber jacket you created. 6.   • Soweto Bicycle Experience
    We'll start our experience at one of Soweto's original pubs and currently the trendiest hang out spot for locals. we will then get on our bikes and explore the rich history of Soweto. Starting in Vilakazi street, home to 2 Nobel Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. We will then cycling to the Hector Pietersen Museum to learn more about the role the youth of 1976 played during apartheid in South Africa. We will make a stop at a local Café, before cycling the vibrant streets of Soweto again making our way to other sites such as the Orlando Stadium in Orlando East. Here, we will get to understand how Soweto came to be, and what important events took place. We will also see where Nelson Mandela used to train boxing. We will then cycle to a local brewing company for a refreshing beer tasting and history of the brewery, before making our way back to where we started for lunch which is a Kota (township burger ). We will teach the local lingo cause everywhere we go, locals will want to have a little interaction with you. Other things to note I do not cover entrance fee to Nelson Mandela house & Hector Pietersen, however, we do visit both venues. Looking forward to hosting you

    We will begin by going to Vilakazi Street to experience both the historical and current happenings of Soweto. We will go to Mr. Nelson Mandela's house and Mr. Desmond Tutu's home, and also to Mrs. Winnie Madikizela Mandela's home, where I will explain how Soweto started and when and why it was built. We will visit the Shova Lifestyle store, Vilakazi Curio shop shops that have given young and old Sowetans and South Africans platform to make money trough selling crafts ,hand made handbags ,t -shirts also help you understand the making of a new history. We will go to the Hector Pieterson Museum to learn about the Soweto student uprising that became a turning point in South African history. We will then have lunch Kota ( a local delicacy .Then we take a taxi ride will pass in different location that are very important we will even stop in certain area , including one at an informal restaurant to taste local delicacies that were also a big part of the hostels and their violent history. We will then go to the Walter Sisulu Square of dedication in Kliptown the oldest part of Soweto and where the freedom charter was written (this document ended up being the basis of our constitution) Other things to note You may have read that Soweto is dangerous, but I can say that Soweto is not so bad. It's not perfect, but it is safer than many European cities. Sowetan people have "ubuntu"—a humanity toward others.
