Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Ellsworth

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samantha's place in Cushing. To say that she is "very responsive" would be an understatement. She typically responded within 10 minutes no matter what my question was. She lives a short distance away which really helped facilitate things. We had a minor issue with the Internet which required communication with the service provider, but she coordinated everything and resolved it right away. The house is totally charming - old, a bit creaky and adorable - and well maintained (no issues there). We imagined how great it would be to visit in wintertime and snuggle up to a roaring fire. They have an expansive yard with gardens great for a short evening stroll. Forest habitat behind the property was great for bird watching. The area is absolutely beautiful - quintissential coastal Maine. The Olson House (local attraction) is a few minutes drive from the house. The grounds have a walking trail along the water with fantastic views of the coast.

We came to Bar Harbor for the MDI Marathon, and this ended up the perfect location, just two blocks from the start line. Price-wise it was comparable to any hotels for the four of us and the full kitchen helped us save some time and money by prepping most of our own meals. Having laundry was a huge plus for a longer stay and being able to pack less. Everything was well-maintained and Sara gave us great info and local recommendations before our stay. Would definitely recommend!

We chose this adorable house in Rockland for our second annual book retreat! It was the perfect size for the three of us with comfortable accommodations and lots of places to sit and relax and read. The beds gave us some of the best nights sleep we’d had in a while and the living room was great for late night conversations and movies! The location was perfect and we walked into town every day for a little adventure! Alicia provided us with so many incredible recommendations for spots to try in town. One week here just wasn’t enough, and we’re already looking for reasons to come back! Maybe for the Lobster Festival?! Overall, this was a fantastic stay with a wonderful host!

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Robard did everything he could to make us feel welcome. We had a few questions given that we were visiting in the off seasoning and he always responded quickly and helpfully. His place was clean and cozy!

"From my daughter: This is our 3rd trip to Acadia National Park, but the first time at this Air B&b. Originally it was supposed to be for 5 of us, but 3 couldn't make it, so it ended up just being my husband and I. The Air B&b is in a remote enough area that it is nice and peaceful, but still an easy 20-30 minute drive to almost anywhere on Mt. desert island. The house has so many thoughtful touches, like an area outside for a campfire, supplies for smores, basic seasoning and condiments, all the light switches labeled (so thankful for that!), etc. We did a grocery run our first day and came back to the house for almost all our meals. This was a cozy place and we'd recommend to anyone visiting Mt. Desert Island and would return here again if we come back in the future."

lovely family home. Had every thing you would need. rules are explicit. it may be helpful to know that the one bathroom is on the second floor.Although family is not in the area, they were responsive in a short period of time. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Casa Gris was a wonderful place to stay at for our vacation to Acadia national park. It was only a 10 minute drive to the park. The house was well kept, had great amenities and an awesome tv set up. 10/10 would recommend for the price and opportune location.

We sent our children to school, we chose to stay here, close to the main road, also very quiet, the room looks bigger than the photos, there are amenities such as refrigerator microwave oven induction stove, convenient for us to cook instant noodles, burn some hot water, you can see squirrels outside in the snow on the bed, very comfortable, can live in this historic old house, very lucky, some small problems, the host will respond in time, if we have the chance, we will stay here again.

Our stay was fantastic. The place was clean and laid out nicely. It was also close enough and an easy drive to Acadia National Park. Highly recommend, and I would definitely come back and stay here again!

Not only is Nicole a gracious host and cheerily responsive to questions, the space is adorable! Everything you need to be comfortable, in a great neighborhood, within walking distance to EVERYTHING downtown, including a very sweet harbor! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great place to stay. Deck is nice and overlooks the water. Warm during cold weather. Host is kind and very helpful.

The bright open concept upstairs apartment was very clean and uncluttered. we appreciated the seasoning and coffee and Maine books left for us to use. I liked the TV feature which automatically canceled our Netflix connection at the end of our stay.

Nancy is a great host. Location is perfect for my needs and the place is very clean and comfortable.

Staying here to go into Acadia NP was the best decision of our whole trip. The place was clean and well cared for, and Renee and partner were super friendly. Renee had a ton of little things in the apartment that made the trip/stay so much better. She clearly thought this through very well. My family and I had a fantastic experience and will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Love this Condo. Superb location in Blue Hill Village, easily walkable to everything downtown. Modern and updated making it very comfortable. Well equipped with cleaning/cooking supplies so you can "live normally". The hosts are super responsive and helpful as well. Highly recommended.

We were very happy start to finish. The location was just so unique and incredible. Right on a working marina, but very quiet. Plenty to see and do nearby. Walk across the pier and buy live lobsters. Christie was extremely helpful and quick to respond when asked. Condo was very well done with plenty of touches to make it homey. A good value! If we come back to Maine, we’ll call her first.

We really enjoyed this cozy garage apartment! I love owls, so that was a bonus. The privacy offered by the blinds was nice (rare to find in an AirBnb). Comfy sofa, ample towels and all around great! Sadly, now that AirBnb has voiced its support for DOGE, I will likely no longer use to book, but I’d stay again.

This place was amazing! The host was very responsive and accommodating! The place had so many accommodations! The main house offered snacks for both humans and dogs! There was board games, a large fire pit area, and grill area. The host answered my many questions about local recommendations. The kitchen was fully equipped. This place is a great find and you will surely return home relaxed, refreshed, and recharged!

BEAUTIFUL landscape directly on a lake with access to fishing poles, kayaks, and canoes, we felt like we didn’t need to leave the property at all. Perfect location to visit Acadia and near by towns. I wish we could have stayed for twice as long. The condo itself seems to be brand new! The beds were comfortable and the decorations and big screen tv were a nice touch. We spent hours on the dock and in the lake (kayaks). Cannot wait to return to this slice of heaven.

The location and size of the unit for our needs was perfect. The staff was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly.

What a beautiful location and house. There’s nothing better than sitting in the living room or front porch and being able to see the Belfast Bay. The house is very clean and neat. Beds are comfortable, shower is very hot. Don’t miss the sunrise in the mornings. Overall this is one of our favorite places we have stayed in Belfast.

We had a wonderful weekend at Derek's house. I have never seen an Airbnb with such a whole kitchen kit. The house is about 30 minutes away from Acadia National Park and has an easy access to all kinds of food at the town center.
