Anchor cottage, an Historic Home and now with EV charger, is a delightful period, cottage situated in the heart of The Anchorage, once known as Mersea City on Mersea Island. It has three bedrooms, a large double, a twin room and a downstairs single bedroom. The bathroom is on the ground floor and large sitting/dining room with a gas heater and provides plenty of space for five people indoors and there is a private, wrap around garden with BBQ area that enjoys the sun at most times of the day.

Situated in a peaceful lane ten minutes walk from the village centre and 2 pubs, the property has its own front door, well equipped kitchenette, modern shower and toilet, large lounge diner, inglenook and two double bedrooms. There are many wonderful country walks starting from the cottage.

The Barn is located within the grounds of our Grade 2 listed Cottage and yet is far enough away from the main house to allow our guests privacy. The property offers two luxurious double bedrooms and a modern bathroom with shower and bath. The light and spacious living / kitchen area is fully equipped with all appliances including a dishwasher and provides comfortable seating for all our guests. Guests will receive a welcome pack of goodies on arrival.

The Coach House

A beautifully renovated self-contained coach house set in the grounds of Pound Hall, enjoying stunning views of Melford Hall and the beautiful countryside. Sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms, with a sofa bed, ideal for a child in the sitting area. The Coach House offers luxury accommodation with a private garden opening onto fields and is a 5 minute walk from Holy Trinity Church and the village. The owners live on site and are on hand to accommodate requests.

The Lodge at Middiford Barn is perfect for those wanting to enjoy the best of the Essex countryside. We are perfectly located for anyone wanting to visit Abberton Reservoir, Layer Marney Tower, Tiptree Jam Factory, Mersea Island, Maldon and the Historic City of Colchester. Whilst also being in close proximity to Constable Country. We are also nearby to the Wedding Venues of Layer Marney Tower, East Mersea Hall, Vaulty Manor and Braxted Park

Riverside gem with a nautical past

In the heart of lower Wivenhoe on the quay, our little self-contained cottage was once part of the home of The Colne Marine and Yacht Company. Its thick brick walls and quiet and pretty disposition, defy its former role as a working yard where timber yachts were crafted and repaired, drawn up inside at high tide. Emma and Charlie welcome guests back time after time to relax and enjoy this very special place. We hope you will join them.
