The chalet was clean and spacious. It had a pleasant view, which made for a relaxing stay. The host was friendly and helpful. Our 4-year-old daughter enjoyed watching lambs and rabbits through the window, which was a nice touch to the experience. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay.

We stayed for just one night, but really enjoyed it. The place is lovely — cozy and very clean. It had everything we needed. We arrived quite late, but check-in was smooth and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. A big thank you to the host for kindly allowing us a late check-out and for the tasty biscuits ☺️

Words and photographs cannot do justice to just how beautiful River Cottage is, both inside and out. We visited with our 2 dogs and the gorgeous garden and river were perfect for them. There was also ample space inside for them, which is just as stunning as the surroundings. We have stayed in many cottages before, and River Cottage is by far the best in terms of meeting both functionality and luxury. We had everything we needed and were in awe at how beautiful the decor is. The suggestions were also very useful and accurate - we enjoyed lots of lovely walks and visits to the recommended pubs and restaurants. Susie was also a brilliant host, keeping us well informed and responding to our messages (we had to place an Amazon delivery as we forgot something and they were more than okay for us to have things delivered). It is a truly idyllic oasis, we didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back in the future!
