Monthly Rentals in Folhada

This was a dream vacation - we had just moved to Portugal and spent 2 weeks getting setup. We wanted a quiet week as a family to rest before school started. This place was perfect: perched on a mountainside in the middle of vines, the space was quiet, peaceful and beautifully designed and appointed. Paulo, the husband, is an architect who refurbishes vintage designer furniture. Teyna, the wife, is an amazing chef. Her breakfasts (included) we delicious and the dinners they offer in their adjoining restaurant and well crafted and tasty. Their place is pet friendly - we brought our dog, and they have a dog, two cats and two birds. We did outings to Porto, nearby Roman ruins, historic villages and swam in the rivers running through them. It was delightful.

Where do you start? First of all, we received a great welcome from the owners. They are charming, present but not intrusive at all. They are very attentive, worried if everything is going well. Then, the property is excellent. Splendid views of the vineyard. It's super quiet. The pool is lovely with beautiful views too. Amazing breakfasts. The accommodation is as described, clean, not overlooked and also has views of the vineyard and river. In short, everything comes together for a great stay. The stay at Abi and Regina's house was fantastic. The apartment has everything you need to spend a few days and we felt right at home. It is a beautiful and intimate house, ideal to rest and disconnect. The surroundings of the property are wonderful. As soon as we arrived, Regina gave us a tour to see the whole place and we were able to see her orchards and eat some tangerines that were very tasty. That night we attended a magic lantern show that Abi and Regina offered to some international students and the next day Abi himself gave us a tour of the museum they have on the property. Listening to Abi's explanations and taking a tour of her life and work and that of Regina was a privilege. Seeing so much passion in what they do has been a wonderful gift. We had a great time in this house, it really is a luxury to be able to live in such an inspiring and beautiful place. We are already looking forward to spending a few days here again!
