Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Gondomar

We had an excellent time at this countryside house. The location was perfect to visit Porto, the beach and the countryside. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. We would absolutely recommend this house!

Jorge's place has character. The deck and the backyard were both nice although we didn't really use them. It's a nice space with room to relax. Our favorite meal on our 3 week trip was their recommendation of Casa Viuva Wine Bar so their advice when given, it is spot on. Only complaint I would have is the hot water runs out fairly quickly in the shower, but it's an older house and I love long showers. You will get about 5 minutes. Other than that it's a wonderful town and good central location if you have a car for Porto or the Douro Valley

The house is beautiful and large. It is fully equipped. The beautiful large garden behind the house has a separate space to barbecue and eat. Joane, the host, is easily accessible and has tips on what to do in Porto and surroundings. We had a fantastic holiday there.

Emília was extremely friendly and responsive. We were three couples who went to a wedding nearby and Emilia was flexible with the check in and check out - we could arrive 1 hour earlier even though we were late at the end and ended up checking in just 15min before the standard hour. Also for the check out, knowing we would probably be tired after the party, she let us check out later because she didn’t have any bookings after ours - we didn’t do it but having the option shows the great host Emilia is. She was there for the check in and check out in a blink of an eye-one message away to be precise. There’s a private parking where three cars easily fit. The rooms are big, the living room and outdoor space are incredible to relax and get together, the kitchen is extremely well prepared to receive guests. The house is well decorated and bring a sense of peace . Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to enjoy the place to the fullest but I wholeheartedly recommend Emilia’s place.

This villa exceeded our expectations, and was well appointed to accommodate our needs. We were two families totally 4 adults and 4 kids, and the size was perfect. Outdoor amenities were great, including pool, bathhouse, picnic and barbecue area. The property was very private, and there was a Marina Bar next door that has great food (the burger is one of the best I've had). The only two downsides, which didn't impact my rating was that the wifi didn't work well (I had my own hotspot, and you might want to disconnect) and the beds are firm (seems common in Portugal, because we had a very similar experience at another place). We were looking for a place that was central to northern Portugal, and this worked out great (less then 30 mins to Porto). Being right on the Duro river was very relaxing. We were also able to experience folk dancing (rancho) next door at the marina one night, which was a great cultural experience.

The house is located in a quiet area, great for resting or even for enjoying a little party. We like many days we stayed. Great space, fully equipped kitchen, pool and large room with fireplace if it is in the winter. Ana is a very good and helpful person. Super recommend to feel this home experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Highly recommend this apartment. From start to finish everything went well. Hosts were amazing at communicating and offered helpful advice. Views were amazing from the balcony. Great location. Restaurants & tourist sites nearby. Very close to transport ie train station. Easy walkability. Great sunrise views & easy walk to sunset locations. As stated, highly recommended and would definitely stay here again! Thanks again!!

This was a perfect place for us. Mario gave us a great explanation of how the metro system worked. The Metro stop was directly across the street and got us every place we needed to go. We loved Porto!

This location is not only unique for this area - easy access to everything, Port Cellars, Resto’s, bridge, river sightseeing but provides one of the most stunning and picturesque views of Porto - right from the front room with floor to ceiling windows. It’s a spectacular view, especially in the evening yet provides a peaceful and restful location to recoup after a day out. Great zone for day or evening walks right along the Douro with a dedicated river walkway. You won’t be disappointed!!

The pictures honor the apartment as it is exactly what you will get. it’s orientation is perfect once the resting area (room and toilet) is on the west side of the building, while the living area is located in the east part of the building, meaning that one can benefit from the sunrise in the room and sunset in the living room and resulting on a great light inside the house. The kitchen is all equipped, having a dish machine, laundry machine which also dries, all the basics to cook, pans, cutlery, toast machine, a boiler for water and coffee machine. Sousa family provided coffee capsules, tea and sugar as courtesy and a great detail was to provide the basics to cook (sunflower oil, olive oil, peppers, parsley, aluminum foil, salt) which is a nice gesture. the apartment has good finishings, being mostly wood, making the atmosphere warm. Well isolated apartment, had no need of AC which is available. Views, well, the only aspect that pictures do not honor, in loco is much better!

My husband and I had a lovely 3 nights at Nuno’s apartment. It was cool and rainy so the fireplace was used a lot and made us feel cosy. There was a great grocery store half a block away and the kitchen had everything we needed to make ourselves feel at home and comfortable. The garden was gorgeous. The neighbourhood was residential and quiet and only steps away from the Camino. I would like to stay at this apartment again.

Gorgeous very atmospheric apartment in a chic neighborhood! The living room is tastefully decorated, the house has a lot of vintage items. At the same time, absolutely everything is functional. Three fully equipped bathrooms, large volume of shower gel. Very well equipped kitchen. There is absolutely everything you need for cooking, pots, pans, all the necessary details, there is even a blender, a coffee machine and coffee capsules. The apartment is very spacious and bright. The living room and dining room overlook the avenue, literally one block from the House of Music, and all bedrooms overlook the yard, so it's comfortable and quiet to sleep. Very nice comfortable beds and pillows. Communication with Tiago was pleasant, he was very detailed and answered quickly to messages. Check in was perfect, we didn't wait a minute! Also, Tiago sent us a detailed guide with recommendations. I am grateful to Tiago for her hospitality and I am very happy that we chose his beautiful home. And I hope to come back again!

My family of 4 ( 2 adults, 2teens) stayed at the manor house for 4 nights in April. What a unique house! Beautiful building right next to the Se cathedral - right in the heart of the city. Instructions were clear and we were able to store our luggage onsite prior to official check in. The home has an outstanding view and it is light, bright and airy with outstanding period charm. The beds were comfortable, water pressure good but the WiFi was glitchy. The owner was very responsive and went above and beyond when my son forgot his cell phone in the apartment after we checked out. The owner facilitated immediate retrieval which allowed us to catch our bus on time! It was much appreciated! I would recommend staying here!

Great place to stay was clean and relaxing and the pool was great for the family. The host was very helpful and friendly, informed us of local restaurants and events in the area including a medieval festival that was taking place whilst we were there. Communication was easy, was more than happy to help. Thank you again!

We stayed for more than a week at Manuela's place and had a great time. Manuela and her son Daniel were very welcoming from the check-in till then end of the stay (thanks for the delicious port wine!). The house is better than the pictures - cozy living room, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and lovely garden ... with a hot tub! Porto old city is 20mins drive, Aveiro is 40mins and Douro Valley is around 1.20mins from the place. There is a lovely restaurant by the river around 500mts away. Steep down and uphill walk but amazing views and very good traditional Portugese food. Good to have own transport (you can park inside or on the street) but there is a bus stop just few feet away from the house (we didn't use it as we had our own car). Overall a lovely stay. Thanks Manuela and Daniel for hosting us!

We had a very pleasant stay at this airbnb! The host was very lovely, kind, and always messaged me back quickly when we needed something! It was a beautiful house with a great pool and garden. I would definitely recommend this place for people who want to relax but also want to be able to go to the city to explore!

We spent a lovely nine days at Antonio’s place.

Renovated in 2015, the house has three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms. It was a great place to stay for a week to view Porto and surroundings. Reception was extremely friendly, very warm. The house features a beautiful terrace, a (unheated) infinity pool with beautiful views over the valley and Duoro and features a (clean!) Weber BBQ. Lots of privacy to enjoy with your company outside. 15-20 Mbps internet sufficient to prepare you digitally for a day trip. Despite the fact that the fire alarm system was not completely stable, the owner has done everything possible to improve this during our stay. For a stay just outside Porto with peace and space, this is a great location.

We stayed for four days at the residence of fransisco with a group of five young males. In advance of our arrival the contact with both fransisco and his wife went so smooth, they almost responded immediately. When we arrived at the residence we got an more than warm welcome, we were greeted by fransisco and his wife who gave us a tour and told us everything we wanted to know about the house and garden. Our stay was perfect, the pool was amazing and the temperature of the water was good, we played a lot of soccer in the garden or on the football pitch which could get a little warm when barefoot. Had a small inconvenience but we could solve this with the host almost immediately. In conclusion we had an excellent stay and loved the residence and would definitely recommend fransisco as a host and the residence as well!

The house was very lovely. Super clean and everything just like described. The view was beautiful. The city center is easy to reach by Uber. Clare was a lovely host. Very easy to reach and replied fast. She gave us a lot of great recommendations.
