“Juliet's place was perfect for our escape into the countryside. It made a perfect base for nearby walks in Malham and Ilkley, as well as many more areas that we are still yet to discover! The local area of Silsden is a 20ish minute walk away down clear country lanes, and has all the amenities you'd need. The loft itself is perfectly cosy. It was wonderful to wake up to beautiful views across the fields and hills. Though small, every inch of the loft has been meticulously planned with visitors in mind. The bed was extremely comfortable (particularly after long walks!); the bathroom was pristine; and the tucked away kitchen area provided everything you'd need. We particularly appreciated the milk and water left in the fridge, cereals in the cupboard and a wide selection of teas and coffees. All these thoughtful touches made our stay that bit more relaxing! On top of everything else, the loft was immaculately clean and modern. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we were unfortunately unable to meet Juliet herself however she responded to any messages instantly, and was kind enough to offer to drop off any extra things we may need during our stay. There is a very helpful information pack provided which includes detailed maps for a variety of walks around Silsden. Sadly, time only permitted us to explore one of these routes but it provided us with a perfect introduction to the beautiful local area. The Loft is an absolutely perfect place for a couple wanting to escape and relax. We wished we had stayed longer!”
Luxurious and spacious apartment in Grade 2 mill on banks of Aire. Master bedroom, hand-crafted wooden 'sleigh' bed, large bathroom with free-standing bath; twin bedroom with en-suite shower room; open-plan living area; hand-crafted bespoke kitchen
“The apartment is situated by the river in the pretty, peaceful village of Airton, with a myriad of footpaths that you can follow from the door and a pleasant garden by the river. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and pans and Jesca had provided plenty of tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt and even a packet of chocolate biscuits and bottle of wine. It was very cosy and there was plenty of hot water. The bedrooms had good beds and nice bed linen and there were plentiful soft towels. We loved the area and the apartment and would definitely visit again. Jesca's communication was always prompt and helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay.”
Our home (that we also live in) is a converted barn with huge exposed oak beams and three guest bedrooms in Hawkswick - a small, hidden gem in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Listen to the river and owls at night, then in the morning take the footpath over the fell to Kettlewell.
