Tubara is in the Higashiyama in Kyoto. You can go to so many sights (Kiyomizu temple, Kenninji temple, Yasaka shrine, Fushimiinaritaisha, Gion area, Kamo river, downtown..) on foot! Tsubara was 100y old Machiya, we lovely restored all possible to original style using antique fittings & materials by traditional craftsmanship. We love Tsubara, we hope the guests too! Our house Unoan is a 100-year old machiya that has been beautifully renovated into a luxurious accommodation for short stays. You can rent the whole house. The house is in an excellent location with easy access to popular sightseeing spots such as historical Gion area, Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizudera Temple, Sanjusangendo Temple, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. The main shopping areas, department stores and the Pontocho dining and entertainment district are all within easy walking distance.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. The house was an Ochaya (literally "tea house")before and we renovated it, which is an establishment where patrons are entertained by geisha. We kept the original structure and make it much more modern and comfortable. The river in front of the house is the must-see in Kyoto changing from cherry bloom to maples. The best location near Gojo bridge and Kiyomizuーgojo sta. can make it very convenient to all the famous spots.
