KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. It is in a very convenient location, about 550 m (about 7 minutes on foot) to Kumano Kodo and Kinkou Oji, a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and restaurants (Shoji Teahouse and Tororo-ya). The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to accommodate your questions and advice about walking the Kumano Kodo, as well as pick-up and drop-off when you need it. It is located directly above a retro coffee shop and is a guest house where you can read books. Kainan City is the entrance to the Kumano Kodo, and you can actually walk the Kumano Kodo. Nishimura-tei Hanare - 100-year-old old house with a kitchen & dining room

Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

Nanki Shirahama Inn (one group only)

The entire house is rented to only one group at a time (the price will be added depending on the number of people). It can accommodate up to 8 people in a 16-tatami mat (2 rooms with 8 tatami mats each) living room and bedroom and a 6-tatami mat bedroom. Fully equipped with a bath, toilet, washing machine, kitchen, and fridge. Face and bath towels are included. Free WiFi. The room is on the second floor, and it is difficult for the neighbors to hear sound, so it is a perfect house for families with small children or those who want to spend time quietly. The area around the house is quiet with little traffic and few pedestrians.

**You need to climb very steep stairs, so I don't recommend this room to people who have big suitcases! This apartment is located in my hometown which is safe and convenient. The nearest subway station is Higashimikuni which is on one of major subway line in Osaka. It's easy to access lots of popular and famous places! It takes only 1 - 2 min walk from the station to the apartment. There are convenience stores, grocery stores and local restaurants nearby! Check In : 3:00pm Check Out : 10:00am

"Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)
