The space
The Bischoff Hotel is a unique Heritage listed Historic building. Located in Tasmania's wild North-West, on the edge of The Tarkine National Forest, Waratah is a centrally located gateway to the many attractions, wonders and natural beauty of the area. A perfect base for exploring the world renowned cradle mountain and the Tarkine wilderness. Retreat from your travels to warm yourself by the wood fire, enjoy a home cooked meal and relax with a drink as you take in the tranquility of our iconic waterfall views and peaceful surrounds.

Other things to note
Waratah is a small town. The hotel restaurant is open from 6-8pm for meals. While the roadhouse does stock a good range of items, if you need anything specific we do recommend you pick it up personal supplies in Burnie particularly if you are arriving late to avoid disappointment.

Neighbourhood highlights

Waratah is a quaint little town at the heart of the Tarkine forest. A nature lovers paradise! There many beautiful and historically fascinating walks in and around the town. There is a cafe next door. A museum in town with entry by gold coin donation.The Waratah Roadhouse sells hot food, coffee, petrol and other supplies. The lakes at the centre of town are home to platypus and during the warmer months its very common to see them.
