Waterfront holiday rentals in Hydra

Charming apartment making up the ground floor of Petros's place. The garden is stunning, with views across the town to the sea. Olive and citrus trees give dappled shade and there is an awning for when more shade is needed. Petros lives upstairs so is on hand and is extremely helpful. He not only picked us up at the port and gave us a lift back but also offered to take us to the supermarket and even to the Temple of Aphaia when he was going. The apartment is a 5-10 minute walk uphill from Marathonas A beach. A few minutes more brings you to the stretch of restaurants between the two beaches and a few minutes more the lovely Marathonas B beach. The walk has beautiful views across the bay to Moni and Perdika with the Peloponnese in the background. There is a well stocked supermarket near the A beach. There are buses to Aegina town and Perdika but only 2-3 per day. We walked to Aegina in about an hour and got a cab back for 8 euros. A fabulous, peaceful stay with a very helpful host.

The weekend spent at Katerina’s place was perfect in every way. Hydra is wonderful and we felt like we found the best Airbnb on the island. The swimming area off of Katerina’s dock is beautiful and is flanked on either side by two other rock swimming spots. Katerina was very accommodating with check in times and surprised us with goggles and a snorkel! I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island!

Stella’s place is a little gem in Vathi, peaceful and right in front of the sea. For those seeking relaxation, outstanding view, secluded and authentic atmosphere, it is a no brainer. Stella’s family, owning the best fish taverna of the island downstairs, is more than welcoming, always here to help and making you feel at home. The accommodation is spotless clean, equipped with air conditioning and a practical small kitchen. Highly recommended!

Ελένη is very nice and helpful. Her apartment is very comfortable, in a beautiful, quiet area. It has all the necessary amenities. The terrace has a sea view and the beach is 3 minutes away. We spent two wonderful weeks there. Thank you, Ελένη .

The villa has a great location with great views of the bay. Excellent maintenance of the yard and interior. And the owners are so responsive and nice people. We had a great vacation in an incredibly beautiful place with some wonderful hosts. I sincerely recommend it to everyone!

Leah’s place was really great, we had a very comfortable 6 nights on Hydra. The The host gave us clear instructions pre-check in and great recommendations on places to eat and things to do. The island is idyllic and the great location of this accommodation is an added bonus. The host was not on the island during our visit but any queries were dealt with promptly. We also had a lovely neighbor living close by that allowed us join her sunrise yoga class - what a highlight. The only caveat is the stairs to climb to reach the place, it will raise the heart rate slightly. But for us the effort paid off.

Maria really went out of her way to give us a nice stay. Like picking us up at the harbor, giving advice about the ferry (there was a strike), delicious fresh cake and soup made, a tour of the village of Perdika given and help with booking a rental car. The apartment is really beautifully located and equipped with all the comforts. Maria and Nikolas, thank you very much!

What an amazing place!!! Near the beach overseeing the water, pristine views and verandas in all rooms. We had such a great time!!! We will be back!!! Felt like home. Michalis was so responsive and helpful. Excellent !!!

We had a great stay! The house is in an exceptional place, breathtakingly beautiful. The road to get there, bumpy earth away from 15’, is not for every driver, but you get it used to it quickly. Beautiful views along the way, and also on site. The choice between 2 beautiful natural beaches with transparent water. We were there in early Sept. and shared 1 beach (with trees for some shade) only with 2 likeable 80-year-old ladies and their dog Rosa, who came to swim there every morning. The other beach is really "private" and blissful! The house is a bit messy, with no electricity grid -not for discerning visitors. You can use everything that is available freely. Lots of beds to place freely where you want. I slept outside and enjoyed a spectacular sunrise every morning. Tip: I brought a light solar energy guirlande that provided a lot of atmosphere and pleasant lighting for nice evenings outside on the terrace. Nice contact with the owners. A paradise! Merci!!!

The house was very clean, bright and tasteful. You could easily find it, it was close to the port, parking, urban transportation, and restaurants. The view cheered you up. The only negative maybe was that it was so bright that someone who is used to sleeping in the dark would struggle to sleep.

We had a lovely stay before the tourist season kicked in and the weather was great, the local food excellent and the apartment ideally located. The view from the balcony is fantastic and the host was very responsive and helpful. We're coming back!
