We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paradis! We felt at home here in this welcoming cottage with the wonderful view. Minette is a sweet loving little girl- she stole our hearts from the get-go. We hiked many trails in Jacques Cartiers National Park, we walked the ancient forest trail at Mont Wright Park, kayaked in Marais de Nord, and spent 2 days at home puttering, cooking, and admiring the view of the river. Beautiful location and view from every room in the house. Modern design with a homey feel. Interesting artwork in the house with information about each item in the house directory. Beds and bedding are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipt. Glad we found this one.

Perfect for a getaway with family or couples of friends! The large kitchen, dining room, living room, terrace were just perfect.

This chalet is new, airy, bright, modern with top quality fixtures and amenities. It was very comfortable, and the views of the St.Lawrence from inside or the outside decks are impressive. The driveway is rather steep, though short. If going there in the winter, front wheel drive only or four wheel drive cars without winter tires could be challenged to get up the driveway with snow and ice.

The place was perfect for a ski holiday with our extended family, 10 minutes to the base lodge. The large, well equipped, kitchen and dining area made for fun family dinners while the pool table provided some healthy competition with a lot of laughs. The hot tub on the deck is a great place to relax after a hard ski day. Comfortable beds and ensuites with all of the bedrooms is a real bonus. We will definitely look to book this place again!

Spacious, comfortable, bright house. You quickly feel at home and it's perfect for groups. Several touches were appreciated: even toothbrushes! Nice board game closet on site. As this is a pet-friendly home, expect some hair and pay attention if there are any allergies in your group.

We had a pleasant stay with the family! Everyone found what they were looking for! The immediate environment is quiet and rural. Geneviève was a great help when we needed her, even on New Year's Eve!

Dave was a great host. Super responsive and proactive. The house was spacious, clean and located in a beautiful neighborhood. We called him to check the hot tub and he even brought us donuts! Great experience overall! Merci Dave!

Overall set was perfect a few small details such as no garbage bags in the trash but it was at our disposal, missing a bit of dishes but for 2 perfect sets, the spa lacked water but was nice to enjoy it!

Listing was as described on the listing. It was clean and nicely decorated. They had all the essentials for our daily lives. The river view was beautiful. The owner was very kind, welcoming and responsive. The little plus, the outdoor fire by the forest and a short walk in the forest from the accommodation. The Charlevoix massif is not far by car as well as the pittoresque village of Saint Paul Bay. Thank you so much we had a lovely time.

If you book it you won’t regret it!

Our visit was superb! We only stayed to rest and due to the weather conditions, we stayed inside. For New Year's Day, there were fireworks behind the cottage which was great, we loved it. The kitchen is very well equipped. It was easy to communicate with the host. We would highly recommend it.

We were looking for a refuge by the river to get away from our daily lives and that's exactly what The Captaincy gave us: a house of yesteryear in all its splendor and charm with everything you might need during your stay!

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful village of St-Jean-Port-Joli. The accommodation is really well located, you can't get better! A few steps from the river, its marina and all the other tourist attractions of the village. This is a 5*+ accommodation for the quality of the offer: good mattresses, bedding and pillows - superbly equipped kitchen - decor and furnishings more than perfect. It's up to date and well suited for small families. The host is very concerned about the comfort of the residents.

Great accommodation and hosting!

Everything was perfect at Chalet le Shack! The space was exactly what we needed, the kitchen is well equipped, and very nice bathrooms with lots of towels! The location cannot be beat if you’re coming to cross country ski. Quick access to groceries and restaurants. We hope to come back again next winter!

As mentioned earlier, the place was lovely. The view of the river was breathtaking. The house was also beautiful... warm and cozy. I've never rented an Airbnb with so many services offered...coffees, accessories...entertainment options. Jean-Luc was proactive and responsive to our questions. Plus, we were even offered a welcome gift. I would recommend this place without hesitation for people who want to escape from the city and enjoy a magical and welcoming place.
