The master bedroom has an en-suite and behind a bookshelf is a hidden bunk room. Guests can enjoy 3 acres of private grounds with a stream bubbling through it and a lake with jetty and rowing boat. One of a small group of wooden lodges built in a quiet valley on the banks of the river Teign in Dartmoor National park. Woodland walks from the doorstep. Wild birds and flowers, deer,fishing (day/week permit) starry skies. Small play area. The lodge is warm and cosy and well equipped for up to 5 people maximum. A fast road network only 10 mins away gives an easy journey and access to the beaches in South Devon, North Cornwall and the south west of England.

Our camping cabin in the garden is especially suited to young and young at heart, independent travellers such as walkers or surfers who want a base close to brilliant beaches, great walks around the coast and the pubs, restaurants and other entertainments of the North Devon Coast. It is basic, but cosy and quirky and comes with optional breakfasts! It is good for couples, pairs of friends and solo adventurers.

‘Iris Lodge’ is one of three, private lodges situated on the second lake of ‘Venn Lakes’, on the outskirts of Winkleigh. The lodge has its own, private garden and hot tub, which is not overlooked, and has parking alongside. Coarse fishing is available for an additional £15 per 12 hours, or £25 per 24hrs for up to three of your own rods per person. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, at a maximum number of two.
