In the summer months tubers and kayakers float down the river past the house regularly. Downtown Indian River is just a short distance.

Pa's Retreat a Cozy Cottage for Fishing Families

Amazing fisherman's paradise. Burt lake access across the road & boat launch is just 1/2 mile away. Lots of parking. Lots of space inside to get ready for a day on the lake and for prepping family meals. This place is ideal for humble fishing families looking for a warm bed, hot shower, good meal, and a great time in the woods! We are off the beaten path, 15 minutes to town. Unfortunately, there is NO TV or WiFi, and cell service can be spotty. Perfect place to turn off electronics & get away!

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place surrounded by 31 acres of woods and wildlife. Lots of trails with easy access to I 75. Just go around the corner or down the back hill, and you're on the bike trail that runs from Petoskey through Indian river to Cheboygan. Sit on the back deck in the morning, drinking your coffee and watching the deer or in the evenings, sitting around the fire pit, roasting, hotdogs, or smores. Burt Lake Waterfront Hideaway

Enjoy beautiful lake front northern MI, close to many "Tip of the Mitt" towns, trails, activities while enjoying beautiful Burt Lake, including our sunsets. Our guest house is on the second floor of our detached garage. It is at the end of a quiet road and is located off I-75 (exit 310 and 313), 3 miles from town, but 30-40 minutes from many other towns. Kayaks, small grill, camp fires on windless nights. No pets.
