Earth house holiday rentals in Kaveri River

Skandavan is a great place for travellers seeking some distance from the buzz of auroville. We stayed for 10 days and would have stayed longer had it not been booked. The room has a beautiful color scheme and the dome is a unique feature. It is a good idea to rent a scooter upon arrival, since it is far from the road, the hosts are ready to assist in that. It feels secluded and in the forest, which of course comes with some mosquitoes. It also feels a bit dark in the winter under the large bamboo bushes. The common kitchen has very basic equipment, bring coffee making equipment. The nearby botanical garden offers delicious lunch on weekdays. There is fast wifi in the common room, it does not reach the cabin unfortunately, airtel struggles too. We had a wonderful and peaceful stay and look forward to our next visit. I had a wonderful stay at the House OF Mud. Kavita is a lovely, warm, caring person & has an altruistic leaning. During my stay, I had fallen ill, probably a stomach bug & kavita got me medicines, bananas, coconuts, offered me home cooked food, kept checking on me & I felt cared for & not alone. That was very caring of her. She has made a folder with different categories of which restaurants to visit for what kind of food, popular authentic food or fine dining; what activities to do, which places to visit, addresses of grocery stores, sweet stores, etc. This was very useful to me & I tried most of the recommendations. Kavita invited me on a Farm Flower Walk event that she conducted in her personal capacity & it was a lovely experience. This was a friendly, out of the way gesture on her part. I would highly recommend a stay with Kavita in her House Of Mud, which is a beautiful home with lots of trees with squirrels scampering around & so many birds chirping away !

This is an amazing place! The room is most comfortable, has a magnificent view on the trees and hills and has an exclusive ambiance. The bed is nicely soft and while waking up by the sound of birds, there is a nice cool breeze. The decoration is stylish and the bathroom is clean, comfortable and large. Both the hosts are very friendly and nice company for conversation on all types of topics. At night they invited us to have a drink near the campfire which was most enjoyable and fun! It’s also a perfect place from which one can experience Wayanads wildparks. I would highly recommend to have an visit here.

The place is just next to the hills and both directions you find interesting spots to enjoy nature. Wild peacocks, deer and boar crossed my way and a whole bunch of magnificent birds. I recommend walking all east and follow the paths to the major temple 1,5h walking distance. Besides really enjoyed the between in/outdoor shower.

The place is awesome exactly as shown in the pics. It’s not the place which made our stay amazing, it was the care taker Sivadas who made it memorable. Shivadas is one awesome proactive care taker available 24/7 for any help. Shivadas and wife Lata have excellent culinary skills you don’t have to find any restaurant for any food. From mutton to dosa everything was finger lickingly tasty. This will be our go to place in Ooty. Thank you Nisha and team!!

Medha was really a great host and very supportive about everything. The caretaker Tapan was really nice guy. Really enjoyed the staying. Only thing you have to careful is the insects 😃😃

It felt like HOME away from HOME, just because of the caretakers - Goutam and Maya. Great hospitality and two very kind hearted and hard working people!

mr. Nelson was super friendly property manager. the cook made us some amazing food for all 3 meals. they even setup a campfire on our request..the property has amazing views and is on a 5 acre farm. it's super private, cozy and has some well planned layout. definitely recommend for families and friends alike.
