Absolute dream location, overlooking the ocean from a cliffside. Genuinely jungly, despite being on the sunnier (rather than wetter) side of the island. If it was for sale, I'd be first in line.

I write this review as a highly rated host and guest favorite. John and Nat were kind enough to accommodate an early arrival even though a guest had left the same day. They let me know when the space was clean and ready, which I appreciated. The gardens are fabulous. The location is ideal for the Captain Cook area and south Kona. John welcomed me, offering a few need-to-know details. The lanai was wonderful. Upon arrival, I learned there was an upper and lower space. I was in the upper. I have no mobility issues, which is fortunate because there are wide stone steps and long, steep stairs to the upper cottage. This is not in the description, so for anyone with mobility or ortho issues climbing stairs, you will want the lower space, especially if you pack heavy. I cook, and the kitchenette is not intuitive and inadequately stocked with basics like saucepans, a small skillet, a spatula, and other items. Would I stay here again? Yes. Despite the kitchen, I still give the space a "5"
