Houseboat holiday rentals in Kerala

The houseboat stay was an amazing experience. The staff was very warm and courteous. The food was excellent and the views were awesome. Highly recommended place.

Biju and Sudi (sp?) looked after us on the houseboat and were absolute legends, always helpful, making snacks or opening beers for us. The food they made was out of this world and we had a wonderful time. 2 nights was perfect to soak in the surroundings. Kence arranged everything for us, even a taxi back to the airport. My favourite part of the trip was when we stopped at local fish markets and I had the opportunity to buy tiger prawns or crayfish that Biju would then whip up into something delicious!

We stayed on the Aqua Jumbo houseboat for one night. Overall it was an amazing experience. We got a call from the manager a day before our check-in, and he gave us directions to reach the houseboat. Once we were on the boat, the scenery around us and the peace and tranquility on the lake was truly something. The deck of the boat has a dining table and sofa, and is open from all sides. It is a great place to sit and soak in the beauty of the lake. The staff on the boat were very helpful and friendly, and were happy to customise things as per our needs. The food was good and very generous in quantity - we had to tell the staff to prepare less food. They have the option of going for a small boat ride in the evening at additional charge which we liked as well. Mosquito repellants were provided in the bedrooms, and the AC was operational at night. While the boat was as shown in the pictures, it was somewhat old and worn out - needs a bit of maintenance.

My three friends and I had a great time on Joseph’s houseboat. It was peaceful with beautiful views of the backwaters. The food was delicious and the staff was kind and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the AC was very helpful in the hot weather. They had asked if we would be willing to share the boat with one other couple, which ended up working out quite well - we enjoyed their company to pass the time on the houseboat. I recommend this experience to others!

Me, my wife and my friend stayed for a night in a 2 bedroom houseboat and it was amazing. We absolutely fell in love with the place. The food, cooked in the boat itself, was true to the traditional Kerala cuisine and was exquisite. Taste and spice can be edited based on our requirement and they did a great job. Would definitely recommend this.

We had a wonderful stay in Alleppey. The boat cruise was perfect in all respects. Had good space; nice seating at the top level. Excellent food served for lunch, dinner and breakfast. Best we had in our trip. Even arranged for a cake for our birthday celebrations! Thanks a ton for all the things you did to make our stay special. Will remember this stay for a long time!!

This was really a memorable trip for our family, specially my father loved this experience. Everything was perfectly executed from the time of CheckIn to CheckOut. Space was really neat and clean. We have 4 meals on the moving boat, and all have filled with love and care , properly taken care of everyone tests, thank you Varghese for ensuring we all have. wonderful time. Keep it up. We highly recommend Varghese Boathouse whoever is planning to visit alappuzha. This is really a life time experience.
