This small Japanese-style room is ideal for solo travellers or couples.From the window, a view of fields and mountains stretches out. ▼Summer At night, you can hear the croaking of frogs and the calls of insects and deer in the distance, while in the morning, the birdsong is lively. On summer evenings, the temperature is around 20°C.There is no air conditioning, as you can manage with just the fan. ▼Winter In winter, the temperature can drop to −15°C on some days, and on rare occasions, diamond dust can be seen.There is a wood-burning stove in the shared area, and a portable oil heater is provided in each room.This is a very common fixture found in households in mountain villages. ▼Meals It is a no meal stay. Feel free to cook in the shared kitchen where everyone gathers.It is fully equipped with cookware and tableware. ▼- Transportation It is a 25-minute bus ride from Kiso-Fukushima Station and a 3-minute walk from the Ohara-Kami bus stop. There is also a parking garage. ▼ Our home This is where a youth hostel once welcomed travellers.At the moment, we're living with family, but we're in the process of turning the property back into a place where we can easily stay again. This is a 150-year-old traditional house with a large roof, located in the Kiso-Koma Highlands in the middle of the Nakasendo. This is a room with a bunk bed. It was designed to be like a mountain hut, a room that is exciting and inspires a sense of adventure. Please feel free to use it for families, groups, and training camps. This building was once a youth hostel. Our family took over the management of this building in 2024, and we are gradually renovating it ourselves to make it a place where people can stay easily. At night, you can hear the sounds of frogs, insects, and deer in the distance, and in the morning, you can hear the sounds of birds in the lively mountains. There is no air conditioning, as the nighttime temperature in summer is around 20°C, and you can use just a fan. In winter, there are days when the temperature drops to -15°C, and occasionally you can see diamond dust. There is a large wood-burning stove in the shared space, and a kerosene fan heater is provided in the room. This is the standard heating equipment in Japan. This is room-only accommodation without meals. You are free to cook in the shared kitchen where everyone gathers. There is also a full set of cooking utensils and tableware. It is a 25-minute bus ride from Kiso-Fukushima Station and a 3-minute walk from the Oharakami bus stop. We will welcome you as a family, together with our children aged 7 and 4 ☺

Located in the Kiso-Koma Highlands, right in the heart of the Nakasendo, this traditional kominka (old house) with a large thatched roof has a 150-year history in the Shinshu region. This is a tatami room. Walls plastered with Yamato lacquered plaster and large, glossy black beams.A traditional window framed with Showa glass. This building was formerly a youth hostel, and we, having taken over its management, are now gradually renovating it ourselves to create a place where people can stay comfortably. At night you can hear frogs and bugs, deer chirping in the distance, and birds in the mornings in the bustling mountains. There is no air conditioning because the summer night breeze can only be spent with a fan around 20 degrees Celsius. In the winter, there are days when it gets to freezing 15 degrees Celsius, and there are occasional days where diamond dust can be seen. There is a large wood stove in a shared space and an oil fan heater is provided in the room. It is a no meal stay. Feel free to cook in the shared kitchen where everyone gathers.It is fully equipped with cookware and tableware. It takes 25 minutes by bus from Kiso Fukushima Station and 3 minutes on foot from Ohara Kamikami bus stop. We can bring you a hot breakfast every morning if you want. You can use the kitchen to cook meals. Cooking utensils and basic seasonings (oil, salt, pepper) are provided. The floor of the entire house is cypress flooring. OSMO natural paint is used in the guest rooms. The walls are finished by artisans.
