Located on a stone embankment where two rivers converge, this renovated traditional Japanese house is a private room-only accommodation on a wooded property. There are no buildings in sight, and you can enjoy the sound of the river, the sound of birds, and a sense of unity with nature. The water is spring water (water quality has been inspected). Depending on the season, people come to the river next to the inn to play in the river or head to Kappa Falls. If the weather is good, you can enjoy playing in the river, as well as a BBQ or bonfire (depending on the season and weather, this may not be possible) using the ingredients you bring. (Please be careful when handling fire.) There are also cooking utensils, a microwave and tableware, so you can stay with peace of mind. If you walk upstream along the riverside path, you will find the Kappa Falls about 150 metres ahead. Please make sure to prepare food and drinks, such as dinner, before check-in.(It takes about 20 minutes by car to the supermarket) The last 400m to the accommodation is narrow and difficult to navigate, Once you arrive at "Camu Tsubaki-yama", we will be happy to show you around.

We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees. If you don't like insects, it may be difficult to enjoy. The facility is located in a very quiet residential area. Please refrain from having loud conversations in the garden or on the deck after 8 pm.

There is a wood stove in the living room which is available in winter after receiving instructions from the host. The host lives next house, but of course will not disturb you unless guest's requests. Our 花hana is located at the foot of Mt. Aso, so we coexist with the wild animals and rich nature.
