Family-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Mendota

I highly recommend this place for a small family or a small group. Riv’s Cottage is so cute and cozy. The staff was nice, everything you needed was on the Resort. I took my kids for Spring Break, we also went into town which is only 10mins away, waterparks, Arcades and good eats! If you want a home away from home check out Riv’s place, you won’t be disappointed.

My family of 5 traveled to Galena over Thanksgiving and stayed in this home. It was very comfortable and clean, and my family had a wonderful visit. Everything in the home was as described, and Stephen was quick to respond to any questions that I had. The town is charming, and quaint. We went on a ghost tour, shopped downtown and went to Grant’s home. We would 100% stay at Stephen’s place again if we ever go back to Galena!

Clean, roomy place. Short drive to stores or walk/shuttle to resort pool/restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. The only disappointment was the golf course was closed.

Debbie was very communicative before and during our stay. The property has plenty of yard room for outdoor activities and we loved that we didn’t feel stacked up against a bunch of other houses. The driveway can accommodate a group of cars and we loved the reclining couch in the basement. I’d highly recommend this property.

Fred's place is such a cute oasis for anyone seeking a nice weekend getaway alone or for two. We took advantage of the jetted tub and fire place our entire stay, and were able to check out the pool and gym as well. We wanted to cook all our meals there due to covid, and the place was equipped with everything we needed. It was a perfect 10 mins from Galena's Main Street which also made it really convenient. I would definitely look to stay here again if I ever find myself back in Galena.

It is nice and cozy with all the comforts of home. We stayed toasty with the wood burning stove. I loved having a fire right on the lake. We plan to return yurtly.

We very much enjoyed this quaint home. So many nice touches and the views are fabulous! Douglas is a wonderful host and we very much appreciated his info about the house and its environs. I will note that some amenities of the house could use a good cleaning, for example, bathroom rugs, wall moldings, and glassware. That said, the most important aspects of the bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and bedrooms, were nice and clean. Lovely linens!

The house was very spacious for our family of 6. We loved the location, view, and short drive to everything we wanted to do.

Alexander's flat in Madison was perfect for our stay. Right downtown, a stone's throw from the capital, and about a mile from the heart of the UW campus, this home was fantastic with a beautiful view of Lake Mendota. The best part of the experience was how easy it was to work with Alexander. He was very responsive to every question, he was proactive about giving us information needed for an easy and comfortable stay, and he was extremely thorough in the information needed about checking in and out of the apartment. All in, this was a great experience and I would absolutely stay here again. Thanks Alexander. - Joe S

What an incredible stay we had! The cabin is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with a warm and cozy vibe. The hosts thought of everything that could possibly be needed and were extremely responsive and helpful with anything we asked. The surrounding land is an oasis of peace and relaxation with so many spots to check out. We loved winding down in the hot tub and checking out the farm animals down the road. The pond is another amazing spot! All in all, we highly recommend this airbnb and we really hope we can come again.

My family and I stayed at the Driftless Escape Cabin and had a wonderful time! The interior was even more beautiful in person with plenty of space for my whole family. The Kitchen was well stocked, the beds were very comfy and they had everything you needed. The property was gorgeous with lots of open space and amazing views. We loved playing in the yard and s’mores by the fire. And even though the cabin is close to town, we still felt like we were miles away in nature and truly disconnected!!

Alex was a Great host! His lake house was clean and cozy.. The view was beautiful! My children and I really enjoyed ourselves.. Thanks Alex!!

Great spot! The condo was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It was a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Mandy’s detailed directions and instructions made checking in a breeze. Our group of four had a fantastic time.

This is the 2nd time I booked Laurie's place, so you know we were pleased the first time. It didn't disappoint. Last time was for our son's wedding, this time was for our future daughter-in-law's girls' weekend. House was perfect for hanging out, close to downtown for shopping and a night out.

Sally's place was amazing for my first month in Madison. It was 15 minutes away from everything but tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. the roo. was beautiful, any issues were addressed quickly. communication was great. I loved having a maid service come by. Will definitely be staying here when I come back to Madison!

We had a fantastic time here! The property has an incredible deck that extends into the surrounding forest. We had breakfast outside every morning! If you love wildlife, you'll love this place.

Joen and her husband were spectacular hosts! Stayed with my husband and 2 young children while I had a nearby work conference. The place was just as listed with all amenities we needed. The pool was great for the kids while I was away during the day. Plenty of space for the 4 of us to live for 3 days!
