If you’re looking for a place off the beaten path, away from the touristy-hotels, but still safe and only 45-55 min from San Juan and Farjdo, then I highly recommend staying at Casita Flamboyan. Jose and his wife were wonderful, very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately the island experienced an entire black out, and they immediately texted us to make sure we were safe and their house was adapted to still provide power! I will certainly be back to visit!

You can see the craftsmanship and dedication that has gone into making this a great place to stay. Very private and secure with full fenced yard and electric gate. Kitchen full equipped and stocked. Pool, hot tub, and outdoor shower where all very clean and peaceful. Loved the location close to amenities but far enough away to enjoy nature.

The first time staying at this property just was not enough. We’ve wrapped up our now SECOND visit and I’m already day dreaming of next year’s return. Marco and Jess are exceptional hosts, beautiful people inside and out. I encourage you to experience the magic of this property (and the island), it does not disappoint. So grateful and so blessed to have spent another week here. The room’s amenities are perfect (spacious mini fridge, coffee machine, toaster oven, burner, cutlery, etc). The room is cozy, cool, and spacious. The balcony that lines the second floor is the most perfect spot to decompress and enjoy the beautiful and lush greenery surrounding this piece of heaven on earth. A true island gem ✨

Wonderful! We had a fantastic stay during our spring break trip. Our family of four stayed for a couple of nights so there was more than enough space for us to unwind. As birders, we specifically chose this location for its proximity to nature; it did not disappoint. We didn’t have time to explore the nearby trail but appreciated having it close by - we wandered around the area instead. The house is 40 minutes from El Yunque Rainforest as well as Old San Juan making it a great base away from the city. The home was clean and comfy. We played cards and cooked together, though we did note that there was no oven. Not a big deal, we made our cookies in the air fryer instead! The amenities were plentiful, and Carmen was lovely. Finding the property was a bit tricky only bc the address led us past the house but the response was quick and we found our way. Be prepared for narrow mountain roads that can be for tricky for two way traffic. The natural sounds make it a unique experience.
