Twechar is situated on the Forth and Clyde canal which is used for cycling, walking and kayaking. There are many walks in and around Twechar itself for instance the Roman Fort and easy access to the Trossachs.

The Roundhouse is situated in extensive woodlands and on the edge of open countryside. Built in 2018, it is finished to a high specification with wood-burning stove and big windows with views of the Campsie Hills and open countryside. The Roundhouse is an ideal base to explore the Trossachs, Loch Lomond and Bute & Arran and is really close to Glasgow and half an hour from Edinburgh by train. There's 200 years of history in our cosy little cottage. Part of the original village cross and formerly ‘Bab’s Shop’, it is now a one bedroom haven. There's wonderful walks from the doorstep and it's a great base to explore the cities and sights of central Scotland. Our quiet & lovely village pub, The Swan is open Friday- Monday. It was the first community owned pub in Scotland and has recently had a major refurbishment. Be sure to book ahead, it’s popular!
