The Cabin at the Lake

Lake view cabin! 2 bedrooms one bathroom. Close to breweries, wineries, grocery store, and 20 minutes from Shenandoah National Park. You will have everything you need at our home provided for you. We have a canoe and row boat for you to venture out on the water and fishing poles, just bring your bait and bathing suit! We are "unplugged" at the lake, we have a TV and dvd player and plenty of movies, but do not have satellite tv or wifi. Verizon cell phone should have great coverage. No parties!

Relax with the whole family in this serene setting along a native brook trout stream where nature's sounds prevail. Most every room has wonderful views of the Hazel River and the Appalachian Mountains (Shenandoah NP) beyond. The river's clear waters invite fly fishing, and swimming holes abound as do nearby hiking trails in SNP (favorites, Old Rag and Marys Rock). Noted restaurants are nearby as are many vineyards and antique stores. (County code encourages multi-day [weekly/monthly] stays).

If you are looking to unplug, unwind and just enjoy your surroundings, this is definitely where you want to be. National Hiking trails just up the road and Early Mountain Winery and Bald Top Brewery are 15 minutes away. Cottage is the guest house of our country home. Situated on a mountain with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge and access to many hiking trails; biking; fishing and swimming in private pond only steps from the door. Cottage is located within easy driving distance of multiple wineries, Sky Line Drive and Shenandoah National Park; Montpelier; and restaurants and shops. We can accommodate one or two dogs with prior permission. In April 2023, we again upgraded our internet (see below).
