Holiday rentals with a patio in Matara

Where to start.. In my 10+ years on Airbnb, I have never come across a property like this. The hosts and their kids are just exquisite. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home and cater to your every need. The apartment is brand-new, super clean, and has all the amenities needed at the same time the lush jungle and green surroundings give a very tropical vibe. Working from home cannot be better, more peaceful, and private and with high-speed internet. The family loves to cook a meal for you, so you can keep on working or simply enjoy a relaxing stay. There is also the possibility to rent their scooter or tuk-tuk, make use of the laundry services and enjoy a yoga session on the rooftop deck. It's situated in the middle of the jungle, with monkeys and all kinds of lovely creatures. We love to surf, and with the beach just 5 mins scooter ride away, we felt like we had everything we could dream of. We will be back for sure!:) Thank you Nalaka and family for the wonderful stay!

Beautiful, well-kept accommodation with great value for money. Sea, cafes/restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the accommodation to anyone who wants to discover the south coast of Sri Lanka. Thank you Suresh for the great time at your place!

We had an amazing stay! The house is surrounded by lush greenery, palm trees, and wildlife, making it feel like a jungle retreat. Secret Beach is just a 3-minute walk away—a stunning, secluded cove with soft sand, swaying palms, and crystal-clear water. Our host was fantastic, always helpful and ensuring we had everything we needed. The spacious kitchen and well-maintained house made our stay extra comfortable. Located just minutes from Mirissa, yet peaceful and immersed in nature. Renting a scooter made exploring even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

We really loved our stay in the apartment. It's very nicely designed and has everything that's needed. Also, we really enjoyed cooking in the outside kitchen. The place has a nice working area if you ever need to be productive. Eva was a great host. She was there for us all the time and helped us a lot with everything. The beach is very close and several shops aren't far away.

Lovely & calm full apartment with AC, Hot water and mosquito net. The family hosting is lovely, but the apartment is kind of separate with even a rooftop access for smokers. For me, perfectly located away from the busy side of town and yet still close enough to go surfing within 5min by scooter to Hiri Beach. Price for quality wise one of the best apartments I stayed in. Would book again, no doubt.

We liked our stay in the apartment, it was clean and the host was kind. The balcony and the AC was very appreciated.

We loved our stay here. Easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and breakfast cafes. Perfect for vacation or remote work. The excellent wifi and access to a washer were also perks. Wonderful stay - would definitely recommend!

Perfect place when you have kids like us. They really loved swimming in the pool. The location is great.

Perfect stay for some relaxed and peaceful days in a stylish, clean and lovely villa. We stayed for three nights with our kids and couldnt recommend this gem of a villa enough: Gianluca is a great host: always available & super friendly. Ira is a treasure: also always available and did everything to make our stay even more comfortable. We immediately felt like home and the style and athmosphere in the villa is just amazing. We spent the sunny days at the pool with the beatiful sorroundings. The Villa was very clean and perfectly eqquiped & furnished. See you next time in Ahangama 🙌

We really enjoyed our days in the beautiful house and garden! We loved the space! Only 10 minute walk to the beach and the restaurants but far enough to enjoy the peacefulness of the beautiful garden. Rebecca and here hostess were really flexibel and friendly/ The barking/ protective dogs of the neighbours were scary in the beginning but it turned out the they don’t to anything if you just ignore them.

We had a great stay at Bandula’s villa! Bandula was so helpful and friendly. The place was clean and perfectly located. We would 100% stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka

We stayed 3 nights at Pat’s and Adam ‘s place . They have been the most responsive and generous hosts . The Villa is gorgeous , everything about it : the interior design , the garden and the pool. The Villa is 5 mins walk down to 2 perfect beach’s. Wish we could stay longer . Thank you for everything ❤️

Enjoyed our stay at David’s very much! The villa was clean and spacious, and located in a quiet area, which we appreciated.

Lovely large house surrounded by trees. We had monkeys, a peacock, kitten and fireflies to watch. The house is up quite a narrow road and our driver got lost at first but I phoned Ajith the caretaker and he gave perfect directions. He was also at the end of the phone if we needed anything. It's about a 15 minute walk to the beach and many restaurants. Manuo was great at communication too.

Very nice stay with this lovely family! They are very loving and truely cared about me. They made some food and shared it. Everything what I needed was there. Would highly recommend as a homestay.

Our stay couldn’t have been more amazing. The apartment is so beautiful and comfortable. It’s spotless clean, great kitchen facilities and ice cold AC. It’s located right in front of a little local beach where there is a lot of boats docked which is stunning for sunset. The locals around are all so friendly as well. Such quick and helpful communication from the host. Couldn’t recommend enough it’s an absolute steal for the price.

Cleanest place I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. Location was a bit hard to find via TukTuk but the host was responsive and really helpful. Nice garden surrounding property and very quiet location just a short walk from the beach.

Pavi, Bathi and their family and friends are the loveliest of people, always ready to help or offer advice when needed. Our apartment was situated on the 2nd floor and was lovely, bedroom and bathroom bare very large as is the kitchen diner, if there was anything you needed Pavi got it sorted asap, the grounds are immaculate and have a plethora of wildlife wandering the grounds, the use of the swimming pool was a great addition. Polhena itself is situated in a great spot for travelling out from and has a wonderful little beach(it does get busy at weekends). Shops are in walking distance as is the main town of Matara or a short fun tuk tuk ride. Colombo and other places are easily accessible via buses or train, both a fun way to travel. We will be back.
