Cottage holiday rentals in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough

We were staying in this house with a group of friends for hiking around Beacon. The area is pristine and beautiful and not very far from the mountains. The place itself was spotless, has everything that we needed and the beds were comfortable, also it was quite spacious. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

I've stayed in several places around the area over the years, This was a bit of a gem however. The site itself has plenty of amenities but is also very conveniently located. it's even well enough known in the community that restaurants can easily deliver. After a birthday spent walking the hills, the hot tub was the perfect way to relax and the house itself was wonderfully warm and well furnished. I would absolutely visit again and recommend to others.

A beautiful place to relax with family or friends - cosy and with character. The hot tub in particular was lovely to come home to after a hike during the day.

We had a wonderful few days here. The excellent location made it easy getting to some fantastic waterfall walks. Short drive to Brecon for the supermarket and takeaways. The house is gorgeous and the log fire and hot tub welcoming after a day exploring the superb surrounding area. Clare gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and there was essentials and treats to make us feel at home. We would loved to stay there again and would recommend it highly.

Perfect Stay – Stunning Views, Total Privacy & the Loveliest Host (and Cat!) From the moment we arrived, this place felt like a dream. The breathtaking views, peaceful setting, and total privacy made it the perfect escape. Whether enjoying coffee at sunrise or wine at sunset, the scenery was absolutely magical. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. Our host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure our stay was perfect without ever being intrusive. And the best part? Their adorable, friendly cat, who made us feel even more at home! If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with stunning views and a wonderful host, this is the place. Can’t wait to return!

This was the best get away! It was super private, beautiful scenery. The host was amazing I’d absolutely visit again. Me and my partner loved it and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay! If you’re considering booking here do it!!

Gwen, Colin, Debs and the Cantref Adventure Farm team were excellent hosts making our stay in the Brecon area comfortable and easy. They were very organised prior to check-in ensuring the wood-fired hot tub was ready when we arrived and even including a thoughtful welcome package of Prosecco, fresh milk and juice for the kids. Colin was very helpful with the kindling for the hot tub. The cottages are clean and well equipped with some modern finishes. We liked the heated floors :-)) Thanks again for everything!

Hannah's Cottage is very comfortable and John has put a lot of thought into the way it is set up and the helpful information provided with detailed instructions for local walks etc. It was so well located for going for walks with our dog and within easy reach of some fantastic countryside and coast. Not much in the village but plenty within a shortish drive. In particular it was fabulous to have John as our host as he was so helpful and responsive and we arrived to some really thoughtful extras.

Lovely and cosy. Gorgeous decorative items. Wonderful kitchen. Great walking access to local landscape, church and great pub, as well as day trip options into the Brecon Beacons areas. Great communication from hosts. Our 70+ yo legs managed the stairs, just, but downstairs Mud Room was a lifesaver. Overall, a fabulous few days.

This is on the edge of the village, 1km walk to pubs/cafe and trail, but is less than 1 minute from Dinas Rock and a fabulous walk to yr eira waterfall. Near perfect location for ability to just walk out and walk for a couple of days, for longer stays other trails are only short distance by car. Private garden with a dog poo bin outside the back gate, additional cafe in village hall round the corner but only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Tried both pubs and cafe and went to each more than once as all lovely and varied. Would definitely recommend property and location. Also really helpful maps in the property to assist with planning the day. Would highly recommend accommodation and location and will hopefully return soon.

Lovely cosy cottage in such a quaint little street. The village is so pretty and peaceful and there are amazing walks nearby with stunning views. We absolutely loved our stay and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Had a lovely stay in the cottage. Helen (cohost) was responsive, kind, and accommodating for our dog. The area is just by several walking trails, you can park on the farm and walk from there for some trails, or just a short drive to several other trails. It's easy to get into Brecon for food. The cottage itself is clean and cosy, very narrow staircases but we didn't mind, this is just how old houses were built. I'll definitely recommend this stay to anyone who want a rural break, or someone who wants to hike the mountains near Pen Y Fan. Very nice and quiet experience.

What a wonderful stay. Matthew and Lowrie have done a fantastic job with the cottage. Really well appointed, modern, yet with a homely country cottage feeling. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning, perfect for a relaxing stay and Ideal if you're an active outdoors type. We are already planning our next visit.

We felt perfectly at home in this comfortable cottage which is in a most beautiful location with wonderful views and glorious garden - we loved walking the labyrinth in the morning sun. Sally is a well-experienced host (even without the freshly baked biscuits!). The Cathedral across the road was a special visit on our last morning f our short stay - we wished we'd had longer in Brecon and hope to return.

Had a lovely stay with my family, cottage is very cosy and has everything you need for a lovely comfortable stay. Local walks, cafe and restaurants that were recommended were lovely too. Hosts are great and community very friendly.

My partner and I (and our dog) had a wonderful time staying here. The place was lovely and in a stunning location. The owners were lovely and communication was spot on and included lots of helpful and useful information (even including the local vets!) Highly recommended place to stay and we would definitely stay here again! Thank you so so much!

A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. We appreciated the welcome cake. Slept really well. Would highly recommend the cottage.
