My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed Jeremy and Kate’s hospitality! The hostel was clean, well-decorated, and well-stocked. Made us feel right at home! All the main state parks and hiking trails are just 15-30mins away, which is another huge bonus!!

Hungry Hippie Hostel Bunkhouse Loft

EmilyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
So friendly. So beautiful and peaceful! We stayed in October and were one party of 2 staying at the time. The Queen suite was perfect! Our 4 kiddos loved it, including the 2 teen girls. Perfect little kitchenette, and we grabbed some things from the main hostel space downstairs. Made half of our meals at the hostel, ate out the other half. Kate was so kind and hospitable. We made reservations for later this year and can’t wait. Hoping for snow🤞🏻😊

Hungry Hippie Hostel Room #2

Another great stay at the Hungry Hippie Hostel. Just finished section hiking the SHT... Northern Terminus to Grand Marais. Great location for that. Nice showers and comfy/cozy bed and pillows. Like the addition of the new Keurig machine. And you still can't beat the view of Lake Superior from their place. And Charlie and Clyde are the best.🐾

Hungry Hippie Hostel Room #1

AshleyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This little hostel in the woods is great! We came in after dark in the evening and left while it was still dark the next morning so we didn’t get to walk around but it was a cute little farm, a couple of dogs runnigg by around. The hostel was clean and the bathrooms a great size. The common area was great for conversation with other guests. It’s only about a mile from the trail system. The hostel is cute and cozy and we would stay there again.

I’ve stayed here before and will keep coming back. Comfortable and affordable with beautiful surroundings. I am always thankful for the pet friendly room so I am able to bring my dog. A perfect place to land for north shore adventures!

Jasmin’s Place, Rm #6 w/ Queen & a Twin

JohnRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Lovely room & shared space. Love the use of space. Appears to have formally been a bank with the safe still intact. Only needed a place to stay for the night & this worked out perfect.

Jasmin’s Place (Entire House 1st & 2nd floor)

KimRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Myrna responded immediately to any questions that we had. This was such a fun place to stay with our big group of 8 - including bikes. Everything was so clean and homey and no bunk beds, which was a bonus for us. We played games upstairs, in the very spacious party room (with kitchen), and had so much fun. The pictures don’t do it justice. I highly recommend a stay here!

Jasmin’s Place, Room #10, full size bed.

MelissaRating, 5 stars9 months ago
my stay was excellent and the place had all the basics I needed while working near by. the bed was super comfy, and towels and basic toiletries were provided. the kitchen has only the very basics, but I didn't need much. myrna was quick to respond to my messages, and she was very accommodating with a late check out so I could get some sleep after a night shift. be warned if you're a light sleeper, it is a shared space with thin walls and creaky wood floors. all in all, the place met my needs and I would stay again!

Jasmin’s Place Rm #7 w/ two XL Twin or a King

Jasmin's Place was a perfect location for our activities. Myrna/Steve were very responsive and helpful. It was fun to stay in an old bank that has been lovingly turned into an AirBnB.

Spalding House #24 - Unique 1900s Hotel Rooms

Easy to find & plenty of parking. Seamless check-in. Free Keurig coffee a nice touch. Bicycle parking. Bicycle themed decor a nice touch. Cold water dispenser a nice touch. Close to restaurants & coffee & trails. Sunday bingo @ 6:00pm @ the bar was a blast & got very lucky getting seats at the last minute thanks to the kindness of a couple strangers at a reserved table. Not sure if it wasn't nearly as loud as some warned or I was just too tired after the trails to notice. Comfortable bed. Already looking forward to next time.

this is my second time staying there and they're always super warm and welcoming. it's a wonderful location only about a 10 minute walk to canal park which is hard to beat for the price and they're dog friendly.
