Wonderful, memorable stay. I loved the beauty and serenity of Bolton Bay. The camper was amazing, unlike anything I have ever experienced. It was very clean and stocked with everything I could have needed. Chris truly is a "Super Host". He is so focused on making sure that his guests have the best vacation ever. I plan to return to Bolton Bay as often as possible!

Crooked camper w/stunning lake view. PETS accepted

JennyRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We loved our time at West Crooked Lake! This resort was very peaceful, quiet and family friendly! Camper 13 is lake front and exactly what we were looking for! The camper was very clean and had all the essentials we needed. The amenities were awesome and my kids loved the new game room. Susan was very friendly and accommodating. She definitely wanted to make sure our stay was great. The pontoon we rented from Susan allowed us to explore the amazing lake which was one of our favorite parts! The swimming in the clear water and fishing at this lake was wonderful! All the nearby towns had cute little shops and great restaurants as well! Even on the chilly rainy days there was plenty to do. Our fur babies also enjoyed the vacation with us! We will definitely be back!

Restful night in nature

SherriRating, 5 stars6 months ago
The place was just as described. Bunk beds need new mattresses, they are too thin for comfortable sleeping, we put the top bed mattress on the bottom and added some couch cushions for our teenage son to sleep comfortably. That worked for us. Everything else was good, it was like a good time camping. Plan on bringing water to drink and cook with, as the running water is consumable, but with high iron, so not too tasty. I would definitely recommend staying here for an inexpensive camping type of experience. Loved the drive through the farmlands to get there, and the beauty of the star filled night sky w/o light pollution. FYI, it is reachable only by driving a long dirt road, not a problem, but I suggest if renting a vehicle, choose one suitable for navigating dirt roads. :)

Ridgetop Retreat

ConnieRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We loved our stay at Darienne's tiny home in Dekota. It was a convenient location for our trip to see my daughter who lives in LaCrescent, MN. The drive from LaCrescent to the tiny home in Dekota along Apple Blossom Dr. is breathtakingly beautiful, especially around this time of year. Darienne's tiny home is clean, and very accurately described Airbnb complete with all the basic necessities, plus nice size refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, washing machine, and more. Loved seeing the farm animals, and shopping at the tiny farm store. I really wished we could have spent more time there. It would have been nice to have a campfire under the dark sky of so many bright beautiful stars. Thank you for sharing your tiny home with us!

The Landing 4

Awesome experience; especially considering I booked it that very afternoon. Trains were heard but not a huge issue. Turned the fan on low and was not bothered at all. Exactly what we needed for our quick trip.

Deeon was wonderful, kind and accommodating. The space was perfect for our weekend, cozy and comfortable, plenty of space to relax. Very close to allot ATV trails and short drive to bike at Itasca or do some shopping. Campfire and grilling at night, could not have asked for a better location or host!

Minnesota Wilderness Lakefront Camping w/ Kayaks

AndyRating, 5 stars31 months ago
Wonderful place to spend a northwoods weekend. The lake was very quiet, with only one boat at the opposite end during the evening (people quietly fishing around dusk). The swim raft was an excellent feature, and the lake was cool and clear. The Scamp is very cute, and was exquisitely clean and well-set-up. The outhouse was also quite nice. After dark, the stars were absolutely breathtaking. This is a very remote part of MN! General logistical notes: Plenty of space to pitch a tent, if so inclined. I was there with my daughter and she wanted the camper to herself, so I set up a tent to sleep in. Also, we have Verizon, and we had no coverage at this property ... This was not at all a problem for us, we were happy to read and look at the stars and swim, etc. and we didn't feel like being connected to the rest of the world anyway. Access with a pickup (4wd) no problem, but if I had a vehicle with less clearance, even a light SUV like our family's Honda CRV, I would probably not drive all the way down to the camper. It's a very quick walk up to the 2-track driveway/road, no big deal if you don't have a truck ... We had a nice supper at the Antler Lodge about 2 miles away. Very rustic and campy decor, friendly service, highly recommend stopping there. Also recommend making the half-hour trek up to the Lost Forty, a legendary piece of land which has awesomely large, old-growth pines.

Vintage cabin on private lake lot with extra space

LisaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
It was a very well laid out two bedroom cabin. They provided ample towels, blankets, pillows and everything felt clean and comfortable. Their swing next to the lake was our favorite to watch the sun go down and have coffee in the morning. There is a nice fire ring with plenty of kindling and firewood provided! (So nice). The sauna worked well and was easy to use and warms up really fast. It was a wonderful stay, peaceful, quiet, and it felt private. We will be back for sure!!
