Home away from home. Cozy, comfortable and convenient.
“Excellent last-minute lakeside stay! We enjoyed staying here and look forward to when we can return! A close drive to the comforts of home (Tim Hortons, McDs, Food Basics, chain restaurants) though not walkable. The lake however is walkable and we enjoyed the 5 minute jaunt down to the lake multiple times a day. If you have mobility issues, you'll be walking uphill, but the lake is an even quicker drive. We especially enjoyed using the on-site canoe, folding camp chairs (we forgot ours!), full cable TV (we're antenna folk back home), and the Little Free Library at the front of the retreat. Others have commented it is close to the highway and they are correct. If you are a light sleeper that might affect you, but we enjoyed being able to zip out whenever we needed a coffee or to get sundries. You have another unit next to you if you are staying in #4, The Suite. We stayed a few days so had two different sets of couples next to us. This retreat is excellent for couples - it felt cozy enough to be romantic, but communal enough where you wouldn't get lonely. I enjoyed the shared outdoor dining table as it gave us the opportunity to dine outside and meet the other guests. The unit is not completely soundproof from your neighbour, but I have a feeling you won't have any issues as this is NOT a party resort. This is a wine-and-dine while watching the sunset or walking the grounds resort. As for amenities inside the unit, your host Barb has thought of everything: can opener, salt and pepper, tinfoil, hair dryer, extra mattress topper, umbrella - even paper towels. I always pack these things as we travel on a regular basis, but they were not needed here! It truly was a wonderful laid back experience. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for something in the Orillia/Midland/Oro area. -Carleen LeBlanc - Travel Consultant at The Travel Agent Next Door”

“Great place! Located in a quiet residential area. We all enjoyed the games and it had everything we needed. Ginny was very prompt with communication and diligent with COVID cleaning which we very much appreciated given these times. Would recommend to others as a fun and comfortable place to stay.”
We have doubled our cleaning efforts to provide a thorough cleaning including the disinfection of all touch points. We are isolated and our guests are saying that the cottage has provided a serene space and allowed them to focus on their family and nature. Enjoy the beaver ponds along the trails, indoor and outdoor games, sauna, hot tub and firepit. www.airbnb.ca/h/theperfectretreat www.airbnb.ca/h/chaletdubois
“Patricia was an amazing host, super quick to reply to any questions and the home was better than we expected. House was super clean and the property is amazing. Lots of space inside and out for a wonderful getaway, equally great for families and/or a group of grown ups. Remember bug spray, mosquitoes are really bad in the summer! We are already talking about returning, and considering Pat's other homes in the future!”
